Wow, where did summer go? As I look out my window, I can't help but admire the beautiful leaves changing color, before they fall to the ground, while also thinking back to the fun summer and many wonderful day trips we took with the girls. While the summer weather was nice, I personally love the fall, not just for the crisp air, but for the beauty and fun in brings. From apple picking, leaf peeping, and decorating the house for Halloween and then Thanksgiving, the girls are now at the age that they too are getting excited about the changing seasons.
Right now, they are trying to decide what they will be for Halloween. Just yesterday, Savannah wanted to be Skye from Paw Patrol, and now today she wants to be Brewster from Chuggington. Bella is also indecisive on the costume front, as she wants to be like a talk show host and change a few times on Halloween night, so that she can get in time to wear her Despicable Me minion costume, dress as Cinderella, and now be Doc McStuffins. I guess they are getting me ready for their teen years when they will be shopping until they drop, and filling their closets with trendy clothes. :-)
But, in the meantime, I like to pull them close and snuggle up on the couch with a nice warm blanket, as we read books, or watch a movie. And, soon, we will be pulling out our winter clothes and getting ready to make snow angels and build snowmen outside, as we count down the days until Santa and the reindeer arrive. I know, I know..rushing the holidays, right? Don't tell me that...just go to a store and look at where the Halloween decorations used to be. You will be surprised to see Christmas trees, lights and more now in their place. :-)
