Not only is next Friday, September 12th HOMESCHOOL DAY 2014 for all those homeschooling families out there, including ours, to celebrate, but it is also the release date of Dolphin Tale 2 in theaters. :-)

My family is so excited to see this movie, especially since I shared the first movie with the girls a few months back.  We are looking forward to a fun movie and lunch date with the girls, as we take in this wonderful family friendly movie.

Here is the official trailer, in case you are not familiar with the first movie, or have seen the trailer for the sequel...

I know what you are saying, "Sequels are usually flops".  I usually think this way too, but based upon the stellar cast and my family's love for the first movie, I know the second one will be just as good, and maybe even better -- we will have to wait and see.  I am a huge fan of Harry Connick Jr., Ashley Judd (who is also starring in the upcoming "The Invisible") and Kris Kirstofferson.  So, whenever a movie like this comes out starring these three stars, I get excited.  And, being a family friendly movie, I don't have to worry about trying to find childcare so that my husband and I can sneak out of the house to go to the movies.  Instead, we can bring the girls, enjoy a heartwarming movie together, and then talk about it over lunch afterwards.

And, with the movie's release date falling on Homeschooling Day, it is only fitting that there be a fun discussion guide to along with the movie, for families to use in their lesson plans.  You can find the discussion guide for this and other movies at http://www.homeschoolmovieclub.com/homeschool_day.

The Dolphin Tale 2 Curriculum, which is FREE to download and enjoy is filled with so many great teaching tools.  From learning about aquarium life, getting to know a dolphin, including their anatomy and physical science, to a day in the life of a dolphin, just to a few, homeschooling families will enjoy the videos and .pdf files available for download now.  You can choose to utilize this curriculum before or after the movie.  However, you choose to share Dolphin Tale 2 with your kids, just get ready to have fun as you learn all about these wonderful animals.

I haven't had a chance to go through and watch all the videos and download the .pdf's, but will be doing so over the next few days.  I know that after we see this sequel with the girls, they will be asking all sorts of questions about dolphins, and this lesson plan will definitely come in handy. :-)

Don't forget to follow Dolphin Tale 2 on their social media channels to stay-up-to date on all the happenings of this upcoming movie release in theaters on Friday, September 12th:
