Do You Have the Perfect Christmas Tree? If So, Macy's Downtown Crossing in Boston Wants to Display It @Macys #Sponsored

Can you believe Christmas is almost here?  There are only 90 days left...but, who is counting, right?! :-)



While I am in gift guide mode for my blog, in hopes to bring you some amazing gift ideas for the whole family, I am listening to Savannah teach her little sister Christmas songs. Just last year, Savannah was just getting excited about the idea of Christmas and Santa, and now she is able to sing all of the Christmas classics, like Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer and Jingle Bells.  Bella, seeing how excited Savannah is, and hearing Savannah talk about Santa and all the toys and magic of the season, is getting excited to.  I can't help but smile when I see them getting along, and talking about things -- even if it is about their long wish lists for the jolly old man in red.

While the kids get excited about what Santa will leave them under the tree, I love walking into stores and seeing the tree displays, new ornament selections and all the lights.  There is something about a decorated tree, lights and all, that warms your soul and puts a smile on your face.  And, when I am not shopping for wish list items, I am seeking out and attending annual holiday events with my family.  In addition to driving around New England checking out houses decked out in Christmas lights, I also love to head into Boston, my hometown, and where many of my family still live, to see the annual Macy's Downtown Crossing tree lighting.  This has been a favorite event to attend since I was little, when my grandmother would take my brothers and I to.  We would spend the entire day in Boston doing Christmas shopping and checking out the holiday window displays, and then would end the evening by see the magnificent tree be lit after everyone gathered counted down..10, 9, 8. 7, 6 5, 4, 3, 2, 1.  I am getting excited just thinking about this tree lighting, and cant' wait for it to get here.  :-)

This year, Macy's is doing something fun for their holiday tree lighting.  They are looking for the ultimate Christmas tree to display and light up at their Downtown Crossing location in Boston.  



When I heard about this, I thought, "What a great idea!"  While I wish I had a beautiful evergreen in my backyard to share, I can't wait to see what New England residents have in their backyards, and are willing to donate.  Who wouldn't want to brag that their tree was picked to be displayed at the Macy's Downtown Crossing store?  I know I would be talking it up with family and friends, and even making extra trips to the store with them to see the tree in person. Come on, don't tell me you wouldn't do the same! :-)

Interested in entering your tree in the "Ultimate Macy's Downtown Crossing Boston Christmas Tree Search?  The following are requirements for each entry -- with the deadline for entries set for October 10th --

  • Only evergreen trees, either fir or spruce, standing 40-50 feet tall and displaying full brush will be considered. 
  • It must also have a single trunk from top to bottom and be easily accessed by our harvesting crew.

Macy's will consider all entries received and choose just one "perfect" tree to display at their downtown Boston store.  They will come to your house, harvest the tree, transport and position it atop the marquee at Macy's Downtown Crossing for the 2014 Holiday season, for all to enjoy.  And, if that wasn't enough to get your excited...the winner will also be awarded with a $1000 Macy's gift card* as a thank you!  Sweet!!! :-)

How do you enter your tree into this contest?  Simply snap a photo+ of your tree and send the image along with a 4x6 index card with your name, daytime phone number, street address, email address, location and height of the tree to: Macy's Perfect Tree Search, Attn: Macy's Special Events, 11 Penn Plaza, 11th Floor, NYC, NY 10001.


*Remember entries have to be received by October 10th, 2014 to be considered. So, don't delay in snapping a photo and entering. 

I can't wait to see the tree that is chosen, when I bring my family and meet up with friends at this year's Macy's Downtown Crossing Christmas tree lighting.  Maybe it will be one of my readers who will win this unique and fun honor. :-)
