My Thoughts:

Planning a movie night with your family this weekend, or just looking for an excuse to get the kids all together and spend some great quality time together?  Then, why not consider picking up a copy of Rio 2, or renting it at a local rental kiosk.  We recently sat down to watch Rio 2 with the girls and had so much fun.  The girls couldn't get enough of the talking animals, and my husband and I found ourselves tapping our feet to the cute songs that are interspersed between the story, which in and of itself is great and full of laughs.

It wasn't until this past Christmas that our family was introduced to the original Rio movie. My nephew had brought the movie with him for us to watch, when he came to visit for the holidays.  Prior to his arrival, he couldn't stop talking about how great this movie was, and was surprised we hadn't seen it. But, he was going to fix that...and, that he did.  Since then, we have seen Rio countless times, and it has become an instant favorite with the girls.  Come on, what kid doesn't like watching animals talk on screen, especially when they are making jokes or going on fun-filled adventures.

Even though we have already seen the first Rio movie, I can say that you can still enjoy Rio 2 without having seen the first one.  While watching the first one will introduce you to the characters and let you experience the cute song and dance similar to what you find in Rio 2, you can still sit down and enjoy a new adventure.  But, I am guessing that after seeing Rio 2, if you haven't seen the first movie, you will find yourself running to the store to pick up a copy, so that you can enjoy this with your family, and start a Rio movie collection.

Here is a quick trailer to give you a feel for what Rio 2 is about, in case you are one of the few who missed it in theaters or is not in the know about this movie...

Cute, huh?  You really do have to see the whole movie to appreciate this wonderful family friendly movie, that will have everyone laughing, smiling and glad they sat down together to watch the movie. :-)  My girls and I will be watching this again tomorrow, and probably on an upcoming car ride.  They aren't bored with it, and I have to say that I am not either.  :-)  And, prepare yourself to have your little ones singing songs like "I Will Survive" and "What is Love" as the birds in the movie make the songs so catchy that even little ones will be quick to get the words down pat and want to sing these popular dance songs wherever and whenever they want.  Just yesterday, Bella broke out in her emotional version of "I Will Survive" as they saw a clip from Rio 2 on YouTube, featuring this song. :-)
