Living Life Free with LifeLock While Enjoying Summer Vacation #LifeLocksafety #Sponsored

"LifeLock® offers proactive and professional identity theft protection for today’s always-connected world."

How is your summer going so far?  This summer is turning out much better than last year, due in part to my due diligence this summer in making a point to protect my identity, especially during this busy travel season.  Last summer was such a headache and one I don't want to relive again.

I used to always be on top of checking credit reports annually, as well as made a point to take out cash and try to leave as many credit cards at home while traveling.  But, after we had our girls, I always found myself rushing around at the last minute to pack for our trips, even if they were overnight or for the weekend.  I finally realized why so many parents including my own talked about you need a vacation after a vacation, as the one you have planned which includes kids is never a vacation.  Yes, you have fun and share great memories, but you are always looking to entertain and keep the kids happy, or fighting with them to move on to the next activity or go to bed.   After experiencing this firsthand, we make a point to stay local or travel within New England -- that way if the girls act up or get sick, we are within driving distance to our house.  So, you can imagine how confused I was when we returned home last summer from a weekend in NH to find charges in excess of $5000 charged to my credit/debit card from TX.   A few days letter I received my monthly statement from Paypal, only to find additional purchases were made from another credit card I had stored online for purchases at the Dell store and E-Bay.  I don't want to tell you how much was charged -- but, it got my blood boiling.

Someone had stolen my identity while I was away on vacation, and without my knowing until the statements came in.  I never received phone calls from the credit card companies, as I opted not to carry their identity theft protection coverage, which carried a monthly fee.  Now, I am kicking myself for not signing up, as I would have saved myself a lot of headaches, sleepless nights and phone calls and letters back and forth to the creditors, BBB and credit report companies.  It took over 6 months to fix the fraudulent charges, and I have to have all my credit cards cancelled and wait for the reissued ones.  I also had to go online and change all my passwords, which I should have been doing anyways every month or so. But, with little ones, the few spare moments you find yourself with, you don't want to be online checking your bank or credit card statements, or resetting passwords.  If only there was a service that could help protect my identity, monitor my bank and credit card transactions, and notify me if a suspicious charge or threat to my identity is made.  Well, there is such a service -- LifeLock®.

What is LifeLock® you ask?  I hadn't heard about it until recently, when I was asked to be a brand ambassador and share my personal story with you.  Within minutes of visiting their website, I signed up, and found myself able to breath a little easier knowing that someone was watching over my identity, as well as my husband's.

With a membership to LifeLock you will be provided with 3 layers of protection, which most credit monitoring, banks and credit card companies can't/don't offer...

"LifeLock provides 3 layers of protection...

  • 1. Detect
We monitor over a trillion data points 24/7/365, searching for identity threats to our members.
  • 2. Alert
With the patented LifeLock Identity Alert® system, as soon as we detect a threat to your identity you’ll be notified by text, phone or email, to help stop criminals before they do damage to your identity.† **
  • 3. Restore
If your identity is ever compromised, our Certified Resolution Specialists will handle your case every step of the way. And it’s all backed by our $1 Million Total Service Guarantee.

Enrollment takes only minutes and your protection starts immediately."

My husband has issues in the past with people using his credit card, as he has the same as his father, who lives outside the US.  Legally, they didn't use Jr. or Sr. to differentiate between to the two.  So, whenever either of them signed up for credit cards, etc., the name on the card was the same.  And, when my father-in-law lost his credit card, not only did he have to deal with fraudulent charges, but so did my husband.  We spent months tracking my husband's credit reports and writing up written disputes and showing legal documents that even though the names were the same, the credit cards were opened under my father-in-law's SSN, and thus my husband's credit should not be ruined.

Identity theft is not something to take lightly, or to not think about.  It can happen to anyone, especially if you do online banking, make purchases online, wire money online, or simply store your personal information online.  From passwords to your email and other personal accounts, to stored credit card, banking and even SSN information from  W9 forms and other legal documents you store over the Cloud, in Dropbox or other online storage, as well as your hard drive -- all these personal pieces of information that tie in with your identity can be comprised and stolen in a blink of an eye.  And, oftentimes, you don't find out until the damage is done.  Then, if you are lucky, it will take months or sometimes even years to fix.

One of my close friend's had her identity stolen years ago and ended up having to file bankruptcy, after needing to seek expensive legal guidance to fix what ended up to be irreversible damage to her credit.  She is slowly building her credit back and watches her personal identity and credit like a hawk.  When I shared with her information and the services available from LifeLock®, she too, was happy to learn that there are services out there to help her monitor and catch things that banks and credit card companies may miss.  Without hesitation she enrolled her family into the program, including her children, as LifeLock® offers a LifeLock Junior Identity Theft Protection, to help keep your children's credit files clean while they are young.

With some many financial transactions and personal information being shared online daily, it is no wonder people experience identity theft and have their credit card information stolen and used to made fraudulent charges.  Maybe people are busy and don't have the time to monitor their personal accounts and identity, like I found myself last year.  But, it needs to be done, as you don't want to go through the hassles, stress and financial hardships trying to correct your credit or identity.

I am so happy to have LifeLock® looking out for my family, especially as we enjoy the final few weeks of summer vacation, traveling throughout New England.  It is a great feeling to feel safe when it comes to having LifeLock® offering identity theft and fraud protection while I am travelling with my family.  And, if anything suspicious arises, I will get a phone call right away.  It can't get any better than that!

So, don't leave yourself open to having your identity or credit stolen while enjoying summer travel with family, as well as all the year through.  Visit the LifeLock Site today, and learn about the different membership levels, and determine which is best for you and your family.

You can choose to sign up and pay on a monthly or annual basis with each membership.  LifeLock® offers you peace of mind while traveling or simply enjoying activities and local attractions with your family.

Save over $40 on Johnson & Johnson Healthy Essentials + Enter to #Win 1 of 5 $50 Walmart Gift Cards #Giveaway #HealthyEssentials #FIFA #ad

Disclosure: This is a sponsored giveaway with Mums the Word Network and Johnson and Johnson. All opinions are my own.

I don't know about you, but the last thing I want to be doing during the summer months is shopping at stores. In just a few weeks, I will be fighting the crowds and long lines with other parents gearing up for back to school shopping with their kids. But, for now, I am using every free minute I have to spend it outdoors with the girls making some great summer memories.

Have you had any memorable summer firsts this year? We took the girls for an overnight stay to celebrate Savannah's 4th birthday. While away, we visited an amusment park that also had a waterpark section to it. Seeing that Savannah is now a "big girl," she was ready to do all the "big girl" things including going down a waterslide by herself.

The first time I walked her to the top for her to go down, my heart was racing. While I had hoped that she would want to turn back and play in the wading pool with her little sister, I was also excited that she wanted to try new things, even if they were a little daring and scary for mommy. In a blink of an eye, she let go of my hand and went squooshing down the enclosed slide. A lifeguard was at the bottom to catch her. By the time I made it halfway down the stairs to exit the slide waiting area, she was running back up the stairs ready to go again. And that she did, over and over again, for about an hour, until she got tired of running back and forth up the stairs.

While enjoying this and so many other firsts this summer, I have been saving $ when it comes to buying #HealthyEssentials that have been helping keep my family safe this summer. Tips to Keep Your Child's Mind Sharp During the Summer + Cool WordGirl Swag #Giveaway

"Worrrrd up!"

"Get ready to embark on electrifying, brand-new, word-fueled adventures when WordGirl, the Emmy Award-winning animated TV series from Scholastic Media, makes its Season 7 debut, August 4th on PBS KIDS (check local listings)!

The new season begins with a week of five "brain-ier" than-ever episodes - each inviting kids to join WordGirl and her friends as they fight the "cheesy" tactics and dastardly tricks of local villain Dr. Two Brains, while learning new vocabulary words all along the way!

To help keep kids' minds in gear and their vocabularies growing all summer long - and to get them set for all-new word-driven hijinks - here are some tips inspired by WordGirl's Word of the Month for August: CLEVER!"

-- Fun ways to Keep Your Kids Active and Learning This Summer --

Find the word! - Turn reading into a fun game for your child! Host a reading-based scavenger hunt and ask them to find the nouns, adjectives, or rhyming words in a book. And, before embarking on your road trip this
summer, give your kids a list of words and challenge them to check off each one as they spot it from the car window.

Solve the puzzle! - It's important to keep your child's mind working, especially during the summer months, and one super way to do it is by working on logic puzzles together. Purchase crossword puzzles and word search books, find free printable puzzles online - or even create your own!

Make it a reading challenge! - Reading is rewarding for kids of all ages. Create a log of the books your child reads this summer. During the school year and all year long, continue to track the titles your child completes. For each book they finish, reward them with a special sticker. Add to the challenge by asking them to pick out a word they don't know from each book they read and look it up together in the dictionary. See how many books they can read - and new vocabulary they can learn - in just one week or month!

Spell it out! - Throwing a mini spelling bee into the mix is a great way to test your child's spelling ability. Say a word and ask them to spell it out. Then, go around the home, the park or the supermarket asking them to spell
each item you point out!

And don't forget to tune-in to Season 7 of WordGirl, August 4 on PBS KIDS (check local listings) for more word-powered fun!

Cable & Gauge Offers Affordable Clothing Women Will LOVE!! #CGFashion #cableandgauge

Disclosure:  I was sent samples from the vendor in order to write up an honest review.  All views shared are mine and mine alone.

Cable & Gauge
Soutache Tank Top
"From fun, flirty shapes to comfortable classics, each season Cable & Gauge offers women affordable ways to update their wardrobes with wearable takes on the latest trends and key basics."

While I may longer spurge on designer clothing and handbags since becoming a mom, it doesn't mean I don't like to dress up and look pretty every once and awhile.  Date nights outside the house are far and few in between, but when they do happen, I don't want to have to ruffle through the closet to find something to wear that will fit, it dressy and doesn't shout out "stay at home mom."  Weekends are usually reserved for jeans and a loose shirt, as we still carry Bella around, and she can make you sweat at 38 lbs. on a hot day.  I don't like to wear constricting clothes, but I also enjoy getting out of the pajamas or lounge pants I wear during the week.  So, what does one purchase or reach for when getting ready for a weekend out with the family, or even a date night when you can find a babysit?  Thanks to cable & gauge, they are not only introduced me a wonderful selection of clothes that I would feel comfortable wearing for casual and dressy occasions, but I don't have to worry about breaking the bank either, as their clothes are affordable. :-)

How could I say "No" when asked to review clothing from cable & Gauge recently?  And, just the other day, I received two pieces of clothing -- the chrochet scoop neck tee in Mediterranean and their faux wrap dress in deep coral to review and enjoy.

Chrochet Scoop Neck Tee
Chrochet detailing adds charming detail to this flowing summer tee -- Only $21.75; also available in Clementine color

Faux Wrap Dress
This flirty feminine dress features a faux wrap front with wide shoulder straps and a flowing skirt., and is only $42.00

Having spent 10+ years in the workplace and needing to dress up daily, I have spent a lot of money on dressy clothes.  I still have a few pieces that I had purchased years ago that still have the tags on them, in case I ever fit back into them. :-)  But, as I looked at the clothes sent by cable & Gauge and thought about what I used to purchase and wear, one thing came to mind -- these were super stylish and oh so comfortable. They were made of breathable material, were not form fitting to the point I wanted to change into something to hide my new mommy figure which includes wider hips and a little extra around the waist.  Now, to find a place to wear them to?

Do you own a little black dress?  They say that every women should own one?  I used to until I became a mom.  One reason was that black never paired well with baby spit up or sticky fingers.  Another reason was because dates nights had become obsolete while the girls were little.  So, those sexy dresses I used to own pre-children were donated when I did spring cleaner, and never shopped for since.  While I have always been a fan of the little black dress and how it would make me feel sexy wearing it, I have to say that I was surprised at how much I loved this deep coral faux wrap dress from Cable & Gauge.  I am not usually one to reach for deep coral colored clothes, but this one made me change my mind.  Not only was it super comfortable and figure flattering with it flowing skirt, but the color was fun and perfect for a summer evening out on the town.  My husband couldn't stop complimenting me on how good I looked and how great the color looked on me.  And, I have to say, I liked how it made me feel.
:-)

I ended up wearing the chrochet scoop neck tee yesterday while running errands with the girls.  Paired with a pair of jeans, the tee added a fun classy feel to the outfit, while not being overly dressy.  For once in a long time, I finally felt like I was wearing something in style, and that others would take notice of.  And, they did, as I had the bank teller comment on how beautiful the deep blue color was in the shirt, and how I looked good in this color.  Note to self: "Buy more blue/Mediterranean colored clothes." :-)  Another women at the grocery store stopped and asked where I had purchased the shirt, as she was going on a cruise and wanted to wear more stylish clothes.  I think I sold her on Cable & Gauge when I told her that they offer affordable fashion that women would feel great wearing.  Just look at what is currently available for purchase their online store....

Sleeveless Crochet Dress
Shoulder Zip Tank Top
Twist Top Dress
Can you believe this dress is only $28.50?  A steal!

Butterfly Blouse
Striped Cold Shoulder Tee

You like?  I sure do!

I found after putting on the chrochet scoop tee and faux wrap dress from Cable & Gauge that I had a little more pep to my step and felt like a million bucks while wearing them.  It was good to get out of the comfy lounge pants and wears the clothes sent to me by Cable & Gauge.  As I write this review, I am patiently awaiting another shipment from Cable & Gauge that I placed.  The girls get to go school shopping.  Why can't I treat myself to a new outfits for fall? :-)
