Disclosure:  In exchange for complimentary tickets to the attraction, I will be sharing pre- and post-trip posts.  All views shared are mine and mine alone.

Looking for something to do this summer with the family?  Have you been to Lake Compounce in Bristol, CT yet?  My husband and I first went when we moved to CT back in 2007 (that was before children) and had a blast.  We have yet to go back since due to our busy work schedules and then welcoming our two daughters.  But, that is about to change, as we are planning a trip there sometime in July, to celebrate Savannah's 4th birthday.  She loves amusement rides and water, so we know she will have a blast here, as will Bella.

And, with so many new additions this year at  the oldest amusement park in the country, Lake Compounce had tripled the fun this season by adding the first Pink’s Hollywood Hot Dogs on the East Coast, Bear Creek Campground with charming cabins and traditional tipis and a weekend laser light spectacle that will ‘Illuminate the Night’ (Produced by Latertainment in Minnesota, a 50-foot water wall will veil across the lake with simultaneous synchronized music, projections and lasers. ). Lake Compounce has also made the advantageous changes of offering two new season pass options and increasing the number of cabanas in Crocodile Cove Water Park (All of the park cabanas have been upgraded to V.I.P. status and will now include a free tote, towel, sunscreen, two large lockers and in-park coupons).

Oh, and did I mention that the folks at Lake Compounce are also expanding this quality dining options by offering a new line of Organic Selects (For more information and full list of items offered on the Organic Selects menu, all of which are USDA Organic Certificated, visit www.lakecompounce.com)? :-)

"Lake Compounce is host to thousands of parents with young children every summer and the park feels it’s important to provide dining options that include wholesome alternatives such as organic chicken tenders, hamburgers, and salads made with premium quality ingredients. The park will also begin offering more nutritious snack items in addition to classic theme park treats. This summer guests will see organic cookies, Zbars, soup, chicken strips and wraps, salad and more, all made with natural ingredients, located at Lake Compounce’s Croc Pot."

We plan to stay in one of the new cabins after they open in early July so that we can get two full days in at the park.  Even though we are a little over an hour away, with little ones, it is a full day affair going out with them.  And, my thought is that we can go back after a long afternoon and rest up before taking in on-site activities including movie night and crafts at the Bear Creek Campground (Reservations are currently being taken via telephone, and can soon be made directly on www.campbearcreek.com), before waiting early to hit the park one last time before heading home.  While I know the girls will be excited...shh, I haven't told them yet, I am finding myself getting excited too, as I plan our mini staycation in July. :-)

In addition to the added park features, Lake Compounce has also expanded their season pass offering to give guests the choice of two season pass options...

  • The Platinum pass will provide guests with unlimited entry into the park from May through December, including the duration of Haunted Graveyard and Holiday Lights. The pass is currently on sale for $74.99, or may be purchased in three equal installments of $25.01. Parking passes good for unlimited parking are up for sale for $34, and a 10% discount of food and retail purchases will be available.
  • New to the 2014 season pass offerings is the Summer Pass. The Summer Pass is available for $50, and is only valid for park entry from May through September with no additional perks. Guests are able to upgrade their day ticket to a Summer or Platinum Pass by visiting guest relations.
