"The SOI Company was founded with the idea of creating a healthier environment in your home through beautifully crafted, all-natural soy products. "
When it comes to candles, I usually look for soy candles first, after having been introduced to them a few years ago. If you are not familiar with soy candles, compared to other wax candles, soy candles burn on average 40% longer than wax candles. In addition, they burn cooler and more evenly, making for a cleaner, more environmentally friendly burning candle. And, hopefully if you never spill a candle of a rug, but if you do, you will hope that it is a soy candle, as it is easier to get up, simply by using hot soapy water.
With so many candle companies out there, it is a hard to find trusted brands that offer candles that not only smell good, but burn cleaner and are soy based. But, thanks to a recent product review, I am now aware of SOI Candle and their product line...and love it!
"SOI Candles are hand-poured using 100%, FDA approved, kosher soy oil and burn cleaner than paraffin-based candles. Available in a variety of sizes, our candles burn about 140 hours (about 40% longer than wax candles), are soot-free and do not emit any harmful toxins (like Benzene) into your home. Unlike wax, soy oil burns coolly at 106º into a reflective pool of soy that always remains warm to the touch and will not burn little hands. "
I was sent their Plumeria scented Luxe Box Soy candle to review, and was impressed with the fancy white box it came it. If you are not one who likes to wrap gifts, you could pick up a SOI candle and simply give it as is, or place in a gift bag for easy giving. :-)
After just 10 minutes of burning my new SOI candle, I couldn't get over how wonderful this candle smelled, with its tropical floral scent. And, as I walked through the first floor of our home, the refreshing floral scents followed me.
"SOI Candles are triple-fragranced with a variety of delightful aromas to match the décor and
accentuate the feel of your home."
accentuate the feel of your home."
My other non-soy candles would never do this, as I found that the scent could only be smelled up close. Even though the candle's scent flowed through the first floor, it wasn't overpowering at all, which I like, as I have a few friends and family who have allergies when it comes to fragrance candles. When one of them came to visit and I had the candle on, it didn't cause a sneezing fit, which she was impressed with. Now, she can't wait to pick up a SOI candle as she usually shied away due to allergies to the strong scents. :-)
Another great benefit of burning soy based candles is that you can use them as a skin moisturizer. Yes, you read that right.
"Because SOI Candles are created from natural soy, the melt pool can also be used as a skin moisturizer that can be massaged into any dry or irritated areas. It can also be applied as a soothing remedy to sunburned skin, eczema, psoriasis, and poison oak!"
My youngest suffers from eczema and whenever she had an outbreak or the itchies, I burn one of my soy candles, let it cool and massage a little into her dry, irritated skin. This oftentimes brings instant relief, and helps to bring moisture back to the affected area quicker, leaving it softer and smoother.
As for me, I can't wait to pick up additional SOI candles, including a few of their floral scents as well as their sweet scents like macaroon and vanilla orange. :-)
