As a pioneer in corporate responsibility, Seventh Generation offers an amazing line of products that contain only bio-based ingredients --meaning they are safe for the environment and most importantly your family, including your pets. I've teamed up with Seventh Generation to help spread awareness about the importance of chemical reform in the United States, and hope you will join me in helping making chemical safer, for your family and the environment.
Did you know that Seventh Generation has been working to create healthy home products for 25 years? I had no idea they were around this long. I only became familiar with them after I found out I had cancer in 2008 and make a point to get rid of of harmful cleaning products and other unnecessary chemicals in my home after returning home after treatment.
"More than 80,000 chemicals available in the United States have never been fully tested for their toxic effects on our health and environment."
And, when I welcomed both of my girls, I made a point to use Seventh Generation diapers and wipes, along with free and clear laundry detergent and dishwasher liquid. Like their mom, they have sensitive skin, and other diaper products would cause the to break out or itch constantly. But, I didn't have to worry about this with Seventh Generation products as they are free and clear of harmful chemicals and are safe for the girls and the environment, which as a Eco-conscious parent I love.
Have you signed the Toxin Freedom Fighters Petition yet? The folks at Seventh Generation are hoping to collect 100,000 signatures in support of meaningful reform. As I am writing this post, they have collected 94,571 signatures thus far.
I know that they will get their 100,000 signatures and many more, as many parents and consumers are aware about that many products available currently contain 80,000 synthetic chemicals, of which less than 10% have been EPA testing. This is so wrong, don't you think? Being a cancer survivor, and having lost so many friends and family to cancer, Alzheimer's, etc. we need to take a stand and demand that Congress reevaluate the Toxic Substance Control Act, which hasn't been looked at since it was passed in 1976. These laws need to be updated to protect the health of the general public. It is just the right thing to do.
"Scientists have linked exposure to toxic chemicals to many health risks, such as Cancer, Alzheimer’s, learning disabilities, asthma, birth defects, and various reproductive problems."
