"Pull the chunky tabs and reveal the words in this book about counting with adorable pet characters that helps make learning fun. The bright, bold illustrations are full of humor, and little ones will love pulling the chunky tabs and helping the creatures “talk.” The speech bubbles will help them join in, and the mirror ending will encourage them to make some noise themselves. This book includes the numbers one through five."

My Thoughts:

Even though both of my girls can count to 20, I still love sharing fun counting books with them, to help with number recognition.  So, when I was sent a copy of Ana Martin Larranaga's sturdy board book, which features "pull and play" tabs, I knew the girls would have a blast with it...and they did!  This simple counting book has become a favorite and is played with on a daily basis.
My youngest, Bella, who is 2 yrs. old especially loves the "pull and play" tabs, which reveal the number to coincide with the number of animals seen on the opposite page.  Little ones will love looking at the colorful puppies, kittens and fish that make up this 12 page board book.

The best part of the book, beyond the fun interactive pull tabs is the last page, as it contains a round reflection mirror for little ones to look into and see themselves.  :-)  Ever since my girls were little, every time a book offered this neat feature, they couldn't help but smile and giggle as they saw themselves in the reflection.  And, the same held true when they saw themselves in the mirror, on the last page of this book.  I was surprised how they took turns letting each other look into the mirror.  Maybe, they are starting to learn to take turns and share after all. :-)
