Synopsis:

"Now available in the popular board book format, Goodnight Angels is a beautifully written bedtime book for young children that presents a new spin on the bestselling, Goodnight Moon complete with the message of prayer and thankfulness.
This charming bedtime story in the vein of Goodnight Moon will lull little ones to sleep with its soothing rhymes and gentle rhythms. Children will love the board book format, and parents and grandparents will love the quiet message of peace and gratitude for God’s tender, loving care."
My Thoughts:
One of my favorite things to do when I am spending one-on-one time with the girls is to read to them.  Our youngest, Bella, is now getting into books.  She especially loves the books that have lift the flaps interactive features, and board books are favorite, as she can handle them and not worry about ripping the pages.  I love this, as I don't have to tape torn pages, or replace the girls' favorite books because they get ruined.

Recently, I was sent "Goodnight Angels" by Melody Carlson, and pictures by Sophie Allsopp, to share.  When Bella saw the book, a smile came over her face.  She loves dogs and was drawn to the cute grey and white dog on the cover.  I told her that we would be reading it for our special time together, and all after she eagerly awaited our quiet time, so that I could read the story to her.

The story itself is simple and easy to understand especially for young listeners.  A little boy is getting ready for bed and saying his goodnights to his toys and people in his life.  Just as he is about to say his final goodnight, he remembers to thank God through a nighttime prayer.

From saying goodnight to a rubber duckie to the bubbles slides the tub, the boy has a lot of goodnights to say before he can go to bed.  Just shortly after reading this book to Bella, she began saying her goodnights to her dolls, teddy bears, family members and thanked God for all that she has and that is special in her life.  It was so nice to hear Bella thanking God for all that she has and for his love, as she wished him, too, a goodnight. :-)

If you are looking for a cute bedtime book to share with your child, that includes a bedtime prayer to God, then you will want to check out "Goodnight Angels."  I now make a point to share this story with the girls at bedtime each night, as they follow up with their goodnights and a simple prayer to God.
