Glue Dots® Adhesive Products Offer Endless Opportunities for Creative Parent/Child Activities and Bonding (Review)

"Wrapping, hanging, decorating, crafting, attaching and repairing just got easier, cleaner and safer with a new everyday adhesive line from Glue Dots® well as mass merchandisers. "

Growing up I always loved doing arts and crafts at home and school.  I loved being able to tap into my creative side and see what I could make with simple craft supplies.  While I am in no means an artist like the great Michelangelo, I can't help but want to roll up my sleeves and get crafty.  And, now that I have two girls of my own, I get to do this on a daily basis through fun arts and crafts projects. :-)

Back when I was little I loved helping the art teacher prep for our afternoon arts and crafts time.  Who doesn't love making paper plate animal masks, macaroni and cereal abstracts or other hands on crafts?  Ahh, so many wonderful memories of my childhood that I now get to share with my children. :-)

As you know, my girls are still young (only 2 and 3 1/2), so we are not at the stage where they are using scissors or glue when it comes to crafts.  They do, however, use a glue stick for some paper crafts.  But, I usually find myself needing to re glue the pieces, as the glue stick is just not strong enough to hold and by the end of the craft, their masterpieces are falling apart.  So, I jump into super mommy mode, pull out my glue gun and fix their projects, so that they stop crying and they can put their finished masterpieces on the fridge for display.

But, glue guns and toddlers don't mix.  I find myself rushing to use the glue gun, so that I can quickly put it away before the girls pull the cord or get their hands on it.  Because of this, I have been searching for a better and much more safer way to fix artwork that is coming apart or that needs glue to hold pieces such as googly eyes or pom pom tails in place.  And, with Valentine's Day and then Easter fast approaching, we have a lot of fun arts and crafts projects in mind. :-)

I was recently contacted to see reviewing a product called Glue Dots.  Have you heard of them?  You would think with the many weekends we have spent at the local craft stores that I would have stumbled upon this amazing must have arts and crafts supply -- that both kids and parents will love using.

Glue Dots adhesive products, a long-time a favorite among crafters, is bringing completely mess-free, easy-to-use, no-dry-time bonding to consumers where they shop every day. Combining the best qualities of tape and glue, the product delivers strength and versatility in a form that is safe and easy for the whole family to use. There are endless uses for Glue Dots around the home, school, and office, including household decorating, gift-wrapping, quick repairs, crafting and school projects.

Glue Dots are available in three formulas: removable, permanent and poster. All three varieties are acid-free, archival-safe and non-toxic. Glue Dots products conform to industry standards (ASTM D-4236) for craft and child safety. Here’s a brief description of each formula:

Removable Glue Dots®: Removable Glue Dots can easily be detached without leaving a messy residue or damaging surfaces. They work on paper, plastic, metal, wood, glass, and more. Use Removable Glue Dots to secure photos or other lightweight items to virtually any surface.

Permanent Glue Dots®:  Permanent Glue Dots are the go-anywhere, do-anything adhesive. They form a strong, instant-bond with staying power on paper, foam, plastic, metal, wood, glass, and other surfaces. Use them for school projects, household fixes, and craft projects -- anywhere you need a secure bond.

Poster Glue Dots®: Use Poster Glue Dots in the home, school and office to hang posters, charts and photos to walls, lockers, windows, and other surfaces. Neater and more secure than putty, tape or tacks, they bond instantly and can be repositioned easily. When you’re ready to take them down, they remove cleanly, leaving no residue, stains or damaging effects on surfaces."

Within a few days of requesting samples, I received a box full of Glue Dots in the mail to try out.  It was every crafter's and even scrapbooker's dream, as well as every mom of little ones saving grace, as I no longer have to pull out the glue gun to fix crafts projects.  Instead, I simply have to reach for Glue Dots and viola, the pieces are secured in place, and the girls' artwork and crafts are ready to show off and display.

Stay tuned next week when I share some great Valentine's Day crafts you can do with your kids, including fun cards and a cool photo mosaic, that you can use Glue Dots with. I will also be sharing a giveaway where one lucky reader will have a chance to win a Glue Dots sampler back, to try out this product firsthand.  Once you try Glue Dots, you will wonder how you ever lived without them.  I love the many different ways this product can be used, with new ways being discovered each day!
