My Thoughts:
Even though this CD came out on Jan. 21st, it is still going strong with sales, especially with this past Valentine's Day weekend.  I can only imagine how many couples were dancing and enjoying candlelit dinners, as they listened to all 18 country ballads that make up this second release in the NOW That’s What I Call Music! Country Ballads series.  My husband knows how much I love country music, and will sit through a few songs in the car once the girls fall asleep.  So, when I showed him this new CD release, you can imagine how thrilled (or less than thrilled he was), as he knew we would have to listen to the CD in order for me to write up a review.  Shh, don't tell him that I was already familiar with all 18 tracks and country artists, so I really didn't have to listen to the CD in full. :-)
As we drove home from our weekend getaway to Boston, we listened to this CD.  After we made it through the first few tracks, of which I saw my husband tapping his foot along to, I told my husband that he could turn it off, and that I would listen to it later.  He surprised me when he said the CD was not that bad and that we could continue listening to the remaining tracks.  And, by the time the last track played, he couldn't help but say that the CD wasn't that bad -- and that he had a new appreciation for country music.  He hasn't listened to it in a while, so he wasn't familiar with newer artists like Hunter Hayes and Gloriana.  While he isn't a fan of country music per se, he does like popular chart topping artists like Keith Urban, Tim McGraw and Kenny Chesney, and was happy to see songs from them on this Country Ballads CD.
After listening to the songs on this CD on Sunday, and then again yesterday while cleaning the house, I have to say that this is one country music compilation worth picking up.  Each and every song will have you singing and tapping your feet along to. And, it will definitely come in handy during at home date nights, when you are looking for romantic songs to dance along to with your sweetie.
