Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger Break Out In The Tense Action Thriller Arriving on Blu-ray Combo Pack, DVD and Video On Demand February 4 From Lionsgate Home Entertainment

"Action legends Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger reunite in the intense, action-packed prison break thriller Escape Plan, arriving on Blu-ray Combo Pack (plus DVD and Digital HD UltraViolet), DVD (plus Digital UltraViolet), Video on Demand and Pay-Per-View on February 4 from Lionsgate Home Entertainment. The film will be available on Digital HD two weeks earlier on January 21st. In this “thrilling, exciting ride” (Movieline), Stallone stars as a prison security expert who must enlist the help of Schwarzenegger to escape from the most secure prison ever built. Boasting an exceptional, all-star cast, the film also features Jim Caviezel (TV’s “Person of Interest”), Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson (Fire with Fire), Sam Neill (Jurassic Park) and Vinnie Jones (X-Men: The Last Stand) with Vincent D’Onofrio (TV’s “Law and Order: Criminal Intent”) and Amy Ryan (Gone Baby Gone).

One of the world's foremost authorities on structural security agrees to take on one last job: breaking out of an ultra-secret, high-tech facility called "The Tomb." Deceived and wrongly imprisoned, Ray Breslin (Stallone) must recruit fellow inmate Emil Rottmayer (Schwarzenegger) to help devise a daring, nearly impossible plan to escape from the most protected and fortified prison ever built.

The Escape Plan Blu-ray includes audio commentary from the director and writer, three informative featurettes about the film and deleted scenes. The Escape Plan DVD includes audio commentary from the director and writer and a “making-of” featurette. The Blu-ray and DVD will be available for the suggested retail price of $39.99 and $29.95, respectively."

My Thoughts:

We had another date night at home on Friday, but my husband and I didn't mind as we had a few DVDs to watch, that we were both really looking forward to watching.  One movie was Escape Plan, which we both wanted to see on the big screen, but missed due to the girls not feeling well, or getting busy and forgetting it was in the theater.  Isn't this always the case! :-)  Say what you want about Stallone and Schwarzenegger...yes, they may be too old to be starring in action packed films like this one.  But, once you see this movie, you will not be able to think of two actors who could have played the characters better.  Schwarzenegger and Stallone work great together, and really keep you engaged from start to finish.  This action packed movie brings with it many twists and turns in the plot, which I love, and which keep you on the edge of your seat, wondering what will happen next.

You will get an idea about the movie from the trailer and synopsis above, so I will not bore you with an in-depth post about the film's plot.  What I will say is that if you are looking for a great movie to watch at home with your sweetie, especially if you are planning in at-home Valentine's Day, this is one movie that would make dinner and a movie perfect. :-)  Older children will also enjoy watching this movie with you - but, we warned it does contain violence and profanity, so screen accordingly.  And, don't forget to check out the bonus features.  We especially loved watch the "Making of" video and seeing what went into this heart pounding movie. I am so glad we finally were able to watch Escape Plan as we have heard family and friends who saw it in theaters rave about how great it was -- some even saw it a few times...it was that good.  Did you see this movie in theaters?  If so, what did you think about it?
