Holiday Gift Ideas for Kids from HIT Entertainment, Including Playsets, DVDs and Books (Review)

Disclosure:  I was sent samples from the vendor in order to write up an honest review.  All views shared are mine and mine alone.

Still in need of a few more gifts to put under the tree for your little one this holiday season?  Look no further than the growing product line of HIT Entertainment toys.  From Mike the Knight to Thomas & Friends and even Angelina Ballerina, Hit Entertainment has you covered with playsets, DVDs, books, dolls and so much more.  I was recently sent a Mike the Knight playset and puzzle to review with the girls, and both were a hit.

Here is more about the two items the kind folks at HIT Entertainment sent by way, as well as few others that feature your child's favorite HIT Entertainment characters.

My Thoughts:

Usually when my daughters get a playset like this, they are excited about it and will play with it for about an hour or so, but then after that they either start losing interest or lose necessary small pieces to make it work. But, since receiving this playset from the hit animated series from HIT Entertainment, Mike the Knight, this is one playset that gets pulled out each day and played with.  And, when my girls have friends over, they love showing off the playset and all it features.

I think one of the reasons why they like the Mike the Knight playset so much is because of the different sounds.  With over 20 sounds and phrases, it makes playtime that much more enjoyable.  And, the features are pretty cool, too.  From grabbing onto the zip line and sliding down, or firing a catapult, this playset has so many fun interactive features that makes this playset more realistic and imaginative play more enjoyable.

Overall, I can't say enough about this fun playset, which I have played with the girls with.  The pieces have their spots and when they need to stay in place, they do, unlike other clunky playsets that are not built well and have pieces that don't fit or stay put. And, while this playset has a variety of play pieces and figures that come with it, they are not small enough to be lost.  When the girls are done playing with the playset, they can store the pieces inside the different levels of the playset and push into the corner for easy storage.

I highly recommend the Fisher-Price Mike the Knight: Glendragon Castle Playset for parents with little ones who love Mike the Knight. Amazon currently has this playset available for only $20.99 -- a steal when you think about it, as most playsets will run your $40+, with the need to buy additional accessories for creative play.

My Thoughts:

My daughter Savannah just loves puzzles.  Even from an early age, she was always intrigued with how pieces to her wooden puzzles fit together.  And, when she was able to grasp the pieces herself, she would work at it until they all fit together.  Now that she is a little older, puzzles have become her go-to thing when she wants to play by herself, or looking for a fun one-on-one activity to do with my husband and I.  One of her favorite puzzles is this 4-in-1 puzzle, which features Mike the Knight and Friends.  I have shared in the past how Savannah, and now Arabella, are fans of this show.  We even drove over 2 hrs. this summer to take them to a mall event, just so she could meet Mike the Knight.  :-)  So, I knew that when she saw this puzzle from Ravensburger, that she would have fun putting the four individual puzzles together.  And, that she did. Since receiving this puzzle a month ago, a week, heck a few days, doesn't go by without Savannah pulling out this puzzle box, to sit down and put it together.  She is now even showing Bella how to do puzzles, and together they work to put each and every piece together quickly, like it was a race.

If you have a Mike the Knight in your house, this 4-in-1 puzzle would make for a great gift this holiday season.  Being 4 separate puzzles, it will provide hours of solo play, or one-on-one time with your child.  I love putting together these puzzles with Savannah, and have to say that Ravensburger brand has been one of my favorite puzzle brands, as their products are made well and hold up to rough toddler play and handling.  I will definitely be keeping an eye out for more Mike the Knight and other fun character puzzles from Ravensburger, to pick up and surprise the girls with.

In addition to the two Mike the Knight products I was sent above to review, I wanted to share a few other gift ideas from some of your child's favorite HIT Entertainment characters, like Thomas & Friends and Angelina Ballerina.  I know my girls would be over the moon if Santa brought them any of the following, and yours will be, too. :-)
