Are You Ready for "The Sound of Music Live!" This Thursday at 8/7c? We Can't Wait! #faithandfamily #SoundofMusic

Disclosure: I was chosen by Fly By Promotions to participate in their first ever live-event "Faith and Family Viewing Party."  I will be sent a gift card to purchase snacks for the event.  Even though I will be compensated for snacks, all views I share through my blog and social media sites will be mine and mine alone.

If being able to watch this new live telecast with my girls weren't enough, I was just informed that I was chosen to host a "Faith & Family Viewing Party" for family and friends, thanks to the folks at Fly By Promotions.  In addition to watching this family classic live, we will be enjoying pizza, snacks and great company and conversation.  It will definitely be fun to see what both the adults, who grew up watching this Broadway family classic, and the kids, some who will be seeing it for the first time, think of the live telecast version.  I for one can't wait to hear Carrie Underwood sing some of my favorite "The Sound of Music" songs.  She has an amazing voice, and I know she will do an a great job.

THE SOUND OF MUSIC LIVE! on NBC:
Meet the Cast

From executive producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron ("Smash," "Hairspray," "Chicago") comes an instant holiday classic: "The Sound of Music," based on the original Broadway musical. Carrie Underwood and Stephen Moyer star as Maria and Captain von Trapp in this beloved story of the young novice who falls in love with Captain von Trapp and his seven children, set against the backdrop of Nazi-occupied Austria. The jewel in the Rodgers and Hammerstein crown, "The Sound of Music" contains some of the most famous songs ever written for the stage, including "The Sound of Music," "My Favorite Things," "Do-Re-Mi," "Sixteen Going on Seventeen," "Climb Every Mountain" and "Edelweiss."
This new version of "The Sound of Music" will be a faithful adaptation of the original stage musical, to retell the story for a whole new generation. And more than that, it will be broadcast LIVE, adding a whole new level of immediacy and excitement. Get ready to reintroduce your family to the most joyful, most emotional and most musical family adventure of them all.
