Will we have a white Christmas this year? I find myself asking this question year after year, as the New England weather is always unpredictable. Take for instance today...the weatherman was talking up a freezing rain change over to snowy mix for MA and CT. I am looking out my window as I type this, when we should be in the middle of yucky weather, and what do I see, drizzling rain outside. Maybe when I go to bed later this AM and wake up will I see snow on the ground. I know the girls would love this --- me, not so much, as I am not a fan of the cold weather. You would think growing up in New England, with freezing cold winters that I would be used it. I was when I was a child, but now that I am an adult, I prefer to look at the snow from inside the house, out the window.
But, just because I don't like the cold weather doesn't mean I don't love snow. The first snowfall of the winter season is always great to see, as is snow on Christmas day. It is just the idea that once it starts falling, that my husband and I have to bundle up and shovel our driveway, walkways, etc. My husband is also not a fan of the cold, and would prefer to stay indoors when it snows or is cold. But, with two little ones, he is a trooper and plays outside with them, making snow angels, going sledding and having snow ball fights.
I don't wan to jinx myself, but without any snow yet this year, I am hoping for easy winter. Savannah asked Santa the other day for snow so she could have a snowball fight with her sister. While we wait for the snow to arrive, Savannah and Bella can practice their snowball skills by the fun indoor snowballs from Snowtime Anytime!. I stumbled across this company last month looking for ways to create pretend snow indoors for the girls to play with that would not make for a messy cleanup. And, when I saw these snowballs, I just had to get a container for the girls. A sample set will be sent to me in a few days, and I have to say that I think I am more excited than the girls will be for them to arrive. But, I wanted to let you know about this great gift idea as Christmas is fast approaching. I know many of you also hope for a white Christmas so that you can get outdoors and have fun snowball fights with your family. If you don't get snow, don't fret, as you can still have a snowball fight indoors, or anywhere you want, including the office, thanks to these cool snowballs.
