Fill Your Child's Stockings with Wonderful PBS Kids Programming w/ These Recent DVD Releases (Review)

Disclosure:  I was sent review copies from the vendor in order to write up an honest review.  The views shared are mine and mine alone.

When it comes to giving gifts for birthday and the holidays, you can't go wrong with DVD's or Blu-Ray movies, especially when it comes to children.  I know for my family, DVDs sure do come in handy in the car on long car rides, or at home on rainy days, when the girls are not feeling well, or we are just looking for something to do and there is nothing to watch on television.

Usually we have PBS Kids on throughout the day, as some of the girls' favorite shows air on this popular channel. And, if the girls miss a show, it usually recorded, or we can catch it through the PBS Kids online app. :-)  Recently, we were sent a sampling of recent DVD's from hit PBS Kids shows to review.  You should have seen the look on the girls' faces, as you would have thought it was Christmas Day.  They gathered up the DVD's and brought them into the living room to spread out on the floor.  I watched as the girls talked with one another about the different shows, and their favorite characters from each.  And, when the girls saw me watching them, Savannah, "What are you waiting for?  It's movie time!" with a smile.

While we have seen most of the episodes that make up the following DVD releases, it was nice to watch them again, and have the girls talk through the show, letting me know what will happen next.  They are young enough to remember things better than I can, and are quick to tell me what will happen next.  And, while we have seen most of the episodes, the girls can't get enough of them, and could watch them over and over again.  Right now, we have Peep and the Big Wide World: Seasons of Adventure and Caillou: Caillou's Holiday Favorites on rotation in our DVD player.   These and the other recent holiday-themed DVD's from PBS Kids are really getting the girls into the holiday spirit, while also helping to teach them the true meaning of the holidays, and how family is important.  As a parent, I especially love the "We are a Dinosaur Family" DVD from the hit animated series Dinosaur Train, as each of the episodes share the importance of family and spending time together. Even though my girls are going through the terrible two's and three's, and at times don't like to share or spend time the end of the day, they love each and make a point to give hugs and let each other know how much they mean to one another. :-)

So, with the holidays fast approaching, why not consider picking up one or more of the following recent PBS Kids DVD releases to get your kids excited about the holidays, or fill their stocking with some wonderful educational programming, that will not only provide hour of entertainment, but also teach them valuable lessons and skills needed, including learning the alphabet, counting, spelling and learning how to read.  I grew up watching PBS programming, and love being able to share this amazing educational programming with my kids, and see them learning while being entertainment by fun characters and stories.
