There are so many great kid-friendly movies recently released, or arriving in stores beginning in November. The folks at Shout! Factory have some great movies set to release including My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic: A Pony For Every Season, My Little Pony: A Very Minty Christmas and Littlest Pet Shop: Petacular Escapades (Read my review here: http://www.inspiredbysavannah.com/2013/09/arriving-on-dvd-october-1st-from-shout.html), as well as Pound Puppies: Holiday Hijinks, which arrives on Nov. 5th. I was planning to share a review of Pound Puppies: Holiday Hijinks in early November, once my holiday gift guide kicks off, but since the girls and I have been watching this almost daily, I thought I would share my thoughts while it is still fresh in my mind. :-)
Were you a fan of Pound Puppies growing up? I remember Santa brought me a brown Pound Puppy one year for Christmas. I used to take this plush dog everywhere I went. And, it was a hit at show and tell on the few occasions I brought it to school. I had always wished for a dog growing up, but didn't get a real one until I was in high school, as my parents always though it was a lot of responsible, and didn't want to worry about having to find someone to watch our pets if and when we went away on vacation. So, my Pound Puppy friend was my dog for the longest time. I still have him sitting on the shelf in my office. :-)
I love it when television networks like The Hub bring back childhood favorites like Pound Puppies, as I get to share them with my kids. When the girls and I are not tuning in to watch My Little Pony on The Hub, we are watching the ever popular Pound Puppies series. And, whenever a new DVD releases, I make a point to pick up for the girls to enjoy at home, or in the car. So, when I heard that Pound Puppies: Holiday Hijinks would be available in stores starting Nov. 5th, I had to get my hands on a review copy to watch with the girls. I will not lie, I was looking forward to watching this first, as I am fan of all types of animated holiday movies. And, I was not disappointed once the review copy arrived and I previewed it before sharing with the girls.
The following episodes are included on this upcoming release:
- I Heard the Barks on Christmas Eve
- I Never Barked for My Father
- Good Dog, McLeish
- Prince and the Pupper
Disclosure: I was sent a copy of this movie from the vendor in order to write up an honest review. The views shared are mine and mine alone.
