My Thoughts:

One of the books my husband and I look forward to each year is the "Ripley's Believe It or Not!" books.  We are always amazed at the weird talents, crazy inventions and out of this world fun facts that these books have to offer.  While my girls are too young to enjoy these books, "Ripley's Believe It or Not!" books are great to leave out on the coffee table for family and friends to enjoy, as well as share with your children.   If you think you will be amazed at what you read in this new release, just imagine what your kids will think.  :-)

Because my husband and I are foodies, you always flips to the food section in the "Ripley's Believe It or Not!" books.  Just be warned, don't view if you are about to eat or hungry, as you will lose your appetite.  Do you love pizza?  How about a bug pizza?  Yes, you read that right, a pizza covered with Taiwanese water bugs, joro spiders, caterpillar moths and larvae are what you get when you order this high protein pizza in Tokyo, Japan.  I think I will past. 

Are you history buffs or fans of the Titanic?  Last year on April 14th, a restaurant in Houston, TX served up the last meal offered to those passengers who were on the sinking back 100 years earlier.  And, for only $1,000, you could have feasted on this last supper.

The "Food" section is just one of twelve that make up this new release from Ripley Publishing, which is available for purchase on September 10th with suggested retail price of $28.95 US/$32.95 CAN.  Like I said, my husband and I always look forward to annual release, as it is a great introduction to the fall season, as well as Back-to-School.  Last year, I let my nephew take this book in for "Show and Tell," where he shared some of his favorite bizarre, but oh so true stories with his classmates. 

Even though we have only had this book a short time, my husband and I have already read all 256 pages.  When we were done, we had a great time talking about what we had read, and sharing our own favorite stories.  This book is great for those who don't like to read much, as it is filled with hundreds of full-color photos.  So, you can simply flip through the pages and look at the pictures.  And, if something catches your eye, you can stop and read the true story (usually a paragraph in length). 

For those who love apps, you will want to download the "Ripley's Believe It or Not!" app, to access exclusive bonus content from this new release.  The bonus app lets you scan marked images to see special videos -- a very cool feature if I may say so myself. :-)

With over a thousand true stories included in this new book, I expect it to become another bestseller for Ripley Publishing, just like previous releases.  Each story will definitely "fill readers with wonder and astonishment."  You will find yourself saying to yourself "No, that can't be true."  But, it is...which with most stories is just freaky or extraordinary -- however you choose to look at each unbelievable fact and story.

So, if you and your family are fans of the "Ripley's Believe It or Not!" books, you will want to make a point to pick up the new release, "Ripley's Believe It or Not! Dare to Look!" book, which hits store shelves on September 10th.  Get ready to be amazed!
