My Thoughts:

I was not aware of this upcoming DVD and Blu-ray release until I saw the movie trailer.  As the trailer began to play, and I was briefly whisked away into a fantasy land filled with action and adventure, I looked at the corner of my computer screen to check the date.  Oh, how I wished it was August. 13th, when this would be released in stores and online, as it looked such a great movie.  But, thankfully I didn't have to wait that long, as I was sent an advance screener copy of this movie last weekend to watch with my family.

What initially drew me to the film was how it reminded me of Indiana Jones in that Adèle Blanc-Sec, the leading lady's character is a reporter and adventurer.  I never thought I would see a female version of Indiana Jones (besides Angelina Jolie's Tomb Raider character), that I could sit through and enjoy.   The story line is such -- While Adèle Blanc-Sec is in Egypt to find a mummy, back home in Paris, an egg has hatched and a dinosaur runs though the streets of Paris. She then goes on an adventurer to help save her mentor.  Don't worry, I will not spoil the plot and ending for you.

This family friendly film really is outrageous, and the story line makes even young children get into the film,as you don't have to sit there trying to figure out the storyline.  The characters are so exaggerated that you can't help but sit back and just take in the movie, while not trying to figure out characters.  The scenes are bright and colorful, and really keep you engaged.  Like most movies, I found myself tearing up during a few scenes, while laughing at other moments.

If you like quirky, far fetched movies that don't require much thought to follow along, or even European films (as this contains French music), then you will love this fantasy/adventure film.   Overall, this is a great film, that will provide an evening of fun and laughter for all.  I can't wait to watch this movie again, as well as other movies by Luc Besson.
