This past May was a joyous time for my family and I as I celebrated 5 years out of cancer treatment for stage 2 nasopharyngeal carcinoma, and was told by my oncologists that I was now considered in remission. If you or a close family member have experienced a life changing illness like cancer, then you know how a diagnosis like this can turn your whole world upside down. But, one thing that got my family and I through the cancer treatment journey was journaling and sharing updates on my condition through CaringBridge. It was easy to set up my own personal CaringBridge page to share with family and friends, and I loved logging in daily to read supportive messages left. They really did help me get through those tough days.
"For more than 15 years, the nonprofit CaringBridge has served as a lifeline of hope, bringing together families struggling with illnesses and tragedies. CaringBridge is now used by over 500,000 people a day, with 44 million unique visitors over the past year.
Sona Mehring, the founder of CaringBridge wants to share these important collections of stories to inspire hope through her new book, Hope Conquers All. Ranging from young children with cancer, to adults waiting transplants, these first-person accounts share the importance CaringBridge had in their personal journeys. For uplifting tales to share with those who are in need of love and support, or even to just reflect on how brave these individuals were through such troubled times, learn more about Sona Mehring's book and how to purchase here:http://caringb.org/hope."
I will definitely be picking up a copy of "Hope Conquers All" to read, and share with my family. Will you?
Disclosure: I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for CaringBridge. I received a promotional item as a thank you for participating.
