Hersheypark is Truly "The Sweetest Place on Earth" #Sponsored

Children's Garden

While Disneyland is considered the most magical place on Earth for many, I would have to disagree.  Have you been to Hersheypark?  To me, this is the most magical and sweetest place on Earth.  And, this summer, to celebrate my 5 yrs. out of cancer and "in remission" status, my family and I will be visiting Hersheypark for a few days to take in the rides and flower gardens, all while getting our Hershey chocolate fix. :-)

I first went to Hersheypark with my husband 6 years ago, and couldn't believe a place like this existed.  Being a chocoholic, I thought I was in heaven. :-)  And, this year, when my husband and I return to Hersheypark for the 3rd time, we will be doing so with the girls in tow.  It will be our first "real vacation" since welcoming the girls in 2010 and 2011, and the first time we take advantage of Hersheypark's family activities.  If you have never visited Hersheypark, here is a short video giving you glimpse into the "Sweetest Place on Earth, as well as additional information about the attractions you will find when you visit Hersheypark:

"Hersheypark, a 110-acre theme park with more than 65 rides and attractions, features 12 roller coasters, more than 20 kiddie rides, live daily entertainment, games, food and shops. The Boardwalk at Hersheypark includes nine water-based attractions and combines the best of two favorite family vacations – a day at an amusement park and a trip to the beach.  Opened in 1907 by Milton S. Hershey as a picnic and pleasure grounds for his employees, in 1971 Hersheypark became a one-price admission theme park that is today among the most respected in the amusement industry.

If your family members are ride enthusiasts, Hersheypark boasts a collection of 65 rides and attractions that range from exhilarating roller coasters to a leisurely steam locomotive to a magnificent historic carousel.

If your family likes to splash in the surf, grab your bathing suits and head to The Boardwalk at Hersheypark, featuring an all new “sprayground,” two new water slides and more shaded areas.

If your family members prefer to “watch” rather than “participate,” we have you covered. Hersheypark boasts stellar live entertainment and the 11-acre walkthrough ZooAmerica, in addition to unique shops and mouth-watering food. Adjacent to Hersheypark is Hershey’s Chocolate World where the fate of chocolate is in your hands at Hershey’s Great Chocolate Factory Mystery - the new, one-of-a-kind 4D interactive experience opening in May.

Garden Attractions

An outdoor butterfly house and whimsical Children’s Garden are highlights of the family activities available at Hershey Gardens. Across town, The Hershey Story, The Museum on Chocolate Avenue, is dedicated to the life and legacy of the man who started it all, Mr. Hershey, and offers “Chocolate Lab” classes and the Countries of Origin Chocolate Tasting.

Family recreation is available on the four courses of the legendary Hershey Golf Collection, which includes Spring Creek Golf Club, the first course in the United States specifically designed for junior golfers.

The Hotel Hershey, Hershey Lodge and Hershey Highmeadow Campground are the official resorts of Hersheypark. Guests at these properties enjoy the Hershey Resorts Advantage, which features the lowest prices on Park tickets and many other perks."

So, as you can see Hersheypark has a lot to offer families looking for a fun summer vacation experience.  While other amusement parks say they cater to families with children of all ages, it is hard to find one that offers a separate area with toddler rides for the younger crowd.  We have gone to a handful of local attractions/amusements with the girls, only to be disappointed with the lack of rides or entertainment for them. But, as I plan for upcoming summer trip to Hersheypark, I am getting excited as there is so much for the girls to do. Oh, the memories we will make on this trip -- in addition to all the photos and videos we will capture during our stay. :-)

Love live shows?  Hersheypark has you covered. :-)  This year's Hershey Entertainment includes popular artists like Jay-Z and Justin Timberlake, Matchbox Twenty and the Goo Goo Dolls, Rascal Flatts with The Band Perry and RUSH.  And, especially for families, the Ringling Bros. and Barnum and Bailey Circus is stopping by the Giant Center between May 22 - May 27th. So, what style of music you like and for memorable family entertainment, make sure you check out the live entertainment offerings before booking your next trip to Hersheypark, so that you can include one of these live shows.

I am especially excited to visit The Circular, Milton S. Hershey’s iconic dining room, which opened on April 23rd, at The Hotel Hershey in Hershey, PA. "The newly designed restaurant, formerly known as the Circular Dining Room, celebrates the grandeur of a bygone era while keeping with what diners want today. It delivers a new menu featuring small plates, prime cuts of meat, local produce, irresistible desserts and innovative cocktails."

A year-round destination, Hershey is located in central Pennsylvania, three hours from New York City, 90 minutes from Philadelphia or Baltimore, and two hours from Washington.   Once you visit Hersheypark, you will realize why it is considered "The Sweetest Place on Earth."
