My Thoughts on the  Mymo’s Adventures” DVD --

Have you been to a local My Gym with your children?  Unfortunately, we are not near a local My Gym, so have to rely on BabyTV to get our My Gym fix daily.  Being a health educator by trade, I know how important physical fitness is for families, especially making sure that children as young as 2 get up and move around.  We continue to see a rise in childhood obesity, due in part to all the technology available to us.  Children would rather sit in front of the computer or television, than go outside, run around and get some fresh air.  And, when it comes to the cold winter months, if you live in colder locations, then you and your children are probably not getting out and getting the much needed physical activity to stay fit and healthy.  But, thanks to the folks at My Gym, they offer a place where parents can take their children for indoor fitness and play.

"My Gym combines innovative, early physical education/pre-gymnastics classes with state-of-the-art facilities to empower children - ages 6 weeks to 13 years - by helping them acquire the skills, confidence and positive self-image needed to become healthy young adults. My Gym’s award winning, structured, noncompetitive, and age-appropriate classes and birthday parties enhance children’s overall development through games, music, exercise, sports, gymnastics, puppets, special rides, and fun. The children gain strength, balance, coordination, fine and gross motor proficiency, agility, flexibility and social skills."

But, if you are like my family and not near a My Gym facility, you can enjoy DVD's like “Mymo’s Adventures” DVD, to get your little ones excited about fitness and working out.  Who doesn't love monkeys?  I know both my girls go crazy whenever they see them in books and on television.  So, when they saw Mymo appear on the screen in this DVD from My Gym, they went crazy with excitement.  My youngest is at that stage where she tries to copy all your movements and sounds.  So, this DVD couldn't have come at a better time.  Each of the six workouts are not only easy for little ones to do, but also incorporate interactive adventures.  Unlike the My Gym segments seen on BabyTV, this one relied on Mymo and a bunch of little children to demonstrate the workout routines, set to music.

The girls and I had a blast doing each of the six workouts, and make a point to do at least 1-2 a day, when we can't make it outside.  I can't stop raving about this in-home fitness workout DVD for young children, that is not only fun to watch and get up and move to, but will help develop a "coordination, balance, flexibility, strength and fine/gross motor skills."

So, if you are looking for a way to get your children more active at home, why not consider picking up "Mymo’s Adventures” from My Gym today?  You kids will have a blast interacting with Mymo, as did mine. :-)
