Newman's Own Organics -- Offering Healthy Snacks the Whole Family Will Enjoy ( Review and #Giveaway )

When I moved to CT back in 2007, I stumbled upon a great organic line of products, called Newman's Own Organics.  And, over the past few years, I have had the opportunity to review a sampling of their products from the popular Newman's Own Organics line, as well as their dog food and treats with our rescue dogs.  And, each and every time I try one of these organics products with my family, it becomes an instant hit.  A couple of weeks ago, I reached out to my contact at Newman's Own Organics, as I noticed a handful of items from their line I hadn't yet tried with my family, but was eager to.  And, a few days later, I received the following to review:

Now, I am not going to review each and every product shown above, as it would not only take forever, but would be cruel, as you will get hungry just reading about all these delicious snacks/treats.  So, instead, I thought I would highlight the top four products from the list above that my family absolutely loved, and then offer one lucky reader a chance to win these four products, to enjoy with their family, thanks to folks at Newman's Own Organics.  Sound good?  :-)



Let me start off by sharing my daughters' favorite snacks -- Newman's Own Organics Alphabet cookies.  These cookies come in both vanilla, chocolate and cinnamon graham flavored cookies, and are bite size, which make for great snacks for toddlers and children.  Savannah had a blast first playing around with the lettered cookies, as she would line them up in order, or would try and make words with them.  Then, one by one, she would eat one.  And, like always, she would respond, "Mmm.  That is good!"   Even though Arabella is too young to know about her ABC's, this didn't stop her from enjoying these Arrowroot Alphabet Cookies.  Both my daughters enjoyed the vanilla flavored cookies, with chocolate a close second. 

Another favorite of my daughters and husband was Newman's Own Organic Famous Recipe Cookies.  I was sent their Chocolate Chip, Oatmeal Chocolate Chip and Ginger Snap cookies to sample.  Out of the three, my family kept reaching for the chocolate chip cookies.  These bite size cookies were especially good with a cold glass of milk, and made for a great afternoon snack for the girls.  With each and every bite of these Famous Recipe Cookies, you would find yourself biting into while chocolate chips, that would just melt in your mouth.  And, like potato chips, once you have one of these cookies, you can't stop. :-)  Since receiving samples of these cookies, I have gone out to the store to pick up more of the chocolate chip flavored Newman's Own Organic Famous Recipe Cookies, as they were that good and only lasted a couple of days in our house. :-)

 

A personal favorite of mine was the Pop's Corn.  Usually, I am a fan of butter flavored popcorn, but now that I am on a diet, and trying to eat healthier snacks, I couldn't wait to try out this popcorn from the Newman's Own Organic line.   

"Each box contains three packets and is easily identifiable with the eye-catching design used on all the company's products, an American Gothic "Pa" Newman and daughter Nell with accompanying tongue-in-cheek legend. Pop's Corn features organic corn and organic palm oil. Consumers concerned about fat consumption will appreciate that no partially hydrogenated oils or trans fatty acids are used.

"We feel our popcorn is terrific on its own, but it is also perfect for adding favorite ingredients" states Nell Newman. "Try adding a little sour cream and onion or Cajun spice. You can make a tasty treat by adding a little of Dad's Ranch Dressing or even nacho cheese with chilies. For a real healthy addition try garlic salt and Brewer's yeast. It's fun for family members to make and enjoy together. I certainly have good memories of doing this."

I have never tried organic popcorn before, so had no idea how it would taste in comparison to other brands I bought at the market.  What I first noticed when popping this popcorn in the microwave was how fresh it tasted.  Usually when I make a bag of butter popcorn, the house smells of artificially flavored butter or oil.  And, when I poured the fully popped bag of popcorn into a bowl to enjoy, I couldn't get over how white the popcorn looked.  And, each and every kernel had popped during cooking, leaving me with an overflowing bowl of delicious tasting butter popcorn.  I went through the three bags of butter popcorn in a week, as it became my go-to mid day or evening snack. :-)

And, being a chocolate lover, I couldn't not review the chocolate cups from Newman's Own Organics.  I was sent their peanut butter and caramel cups to sample, and ended up hiding these, so that I could enjoy them as a snack. :-)  I personally loved the peanut butter flavored cups, as the mixture of the creamy peanut butter and rich, milk chocolate make for a great combination.  And, like all good peanut butter cups treats, I loved how the two ingredients stuck to the roof of my mouth while eating.  A nice cold glass of milk helped to wash it down. :-)
