Old-school grandparents Artie (Crystal) and Diane (Midler) get more than they bargained for when they get stuck babysitting their type-A daughter’s (Tomei) overprotected kids. But things go from hectic to hysterical when Artie realizes the kids are running the house with their newfangled technology. My Thoughts:

My husband and I watched this movie tonight as our in-house date night movie, and couldn't have been happier, as it was a great choice.  We both couldn't remember hearing about this film when it was in theaters, but when we saw the film cover and saw that it starred Billy Crystal, Bette Midler and Marisa Tomei, we couldn't wait to see it.  I have been a fan of all three actors since I was a child, while my husband loves Billy Crystal.  It was so nice to see him return to the big screen.

This family-friendly movie is one that the whole family, including children, parents and even grandparents will enjoy watching together.  As soon as the movie began, so did the laughs, which lasted throughout the entire film.  It is hard to find a movie that doesn't include violence and vulgar language, but this movie is one that you will not be embarrassed to watch with your children.

I remember when I got married and my husband and I began talking about kids, we both agreed that we would raise them differently, from how we were raised.  Times have changed, and so has parenting.  But, tell that the grandparents when they help watching your children when you want to get away.  This is the premise of the movie, in which Marisa Tomei's character wants to get away with her husband, and leaves her three children with her old-school parents.  While Marisa Tomei's characters uses a modern form of parenting, her parents, played by Bette Midler and Billy Crystal, are more old school in their parenting ways, and spend the week working to help each grandchild overcome some of their issues.

With cute one liners, mixed in with heartwarming scenes, you can't help but fall in love with this movie.  I can't wait to sit down with my parents and watch this, and see their reaction to the movie.  They think we have some crazy ways of modern parenting, thanks in part to all the technology available to us, but this old school parenting can be revised a bit. :-)
