Who Knew Pizza Could be Fat Free?

Pizza Fit'n Free
"No fat, less than half the calories, sugar free and 100% delicious! "

Who doesn't like pizza, especially when the entire house is under the weather and the last think you want to do is slave over the stove cooking.  But, I never have luck with take out pizza, as it either comes cold or not prepared well -- and, usually leaves you thirsty from all the salt.  So, instead, we prefer to enjoy frozen pizzas, which are great for those nights you don't know what to make. :-)

But, if you are on a diet, or watching the amount of dairy you take in, pie (either fresh or frozen) has to be made just right.  Like I have shared previously, I am working on losing the extra baby weight from my two girls, which seems to want to hang around.  So, when it comes to pizza, I have to go light on the cheese, or if already frozen, only have 1-2 small slices.  Being a fan of pizza, it is like a cruel punishment when you look at the bubbly cheese and bright red tomato sauce, knowing that you can only have 1-2 pieces. :-(  Because of this, I took to the Internet to see if there was a fat-free pizza out there, that I wouldn't feel guilty eating, and could enjoy more than a couple of small pieces.

Pizza Fit'n Free: Hungry Girl Approved

During my search, I stumbled across Pizza Fit 'n Free, "America's Fat Free Pizza."  It seemed too good to be true.

So, I reached out to the folks at Pizza Fit 'N Free to see if they could send along samples to try, and they agreed.  And, a few days later, I had 6 mini pizzas arrive on dry ice to my house.  They couldn't have come at a better time, as we were all suffering from a nasty sinus infection, which left us drained.  Cooking a four course meal was the last thing on my mind -- as, I shared at these personal pizzas.  I wondered how they tastes, seeing that they were fat free.  Was the cheese without flavor or rubbery like some of those diet or fat-free cheeses in stores?  And, how did the sauce taste?  I couldn't wait to try out these pizzas.  So, as I sat with the girls, and kept sneaking glances at the clock on the microwave, I couldn't wait for 5PM to come, when my husband would get out work.  Then, it would only be another hour wait until he was home and I would be able to pop these fat-free pizzas in the oven to try.

My girls are only starting to enjoy comfort foods like pizza and grilled cheese, so I ended up making mac and cheese for them, just to play it safe, if they didn't want to eat the pizza with us.  Preparing the pizzas was quick and easy.  You simply had to remove the plastic wrap from each pizza, and put them in the oven to cook for 10 minutes.  If you prefer additional toppings, you could add those , too.  My husband opted to add onions, green peppers and diced chicken to his, while I added mushrooms.  We kept the girls' two pizzas just cheese.  I wish you could have smelled how good these pizzas were, as they were cooking.  The hard part was letting them sit for a couple of minutes to cool down before we sliced them up to eat. :-)

I was still skeptical on how they tasted, as they smelled like a freshly baked pizza.  As we sat down at the table, the girls' eyes lit up, and Savannah exclaimed, "Pizza!"  My husband and I just looked at each other because we knew she wasn't really a fan of pizza -- she just likes to pretend she makes them in her kitchen and serve them up to us. :-)  So, not knowing how she would react to it, we only gave her a little piece.  With a matter of minutes, her plate was empty and she was asking for more.  The same was true for Arabella.  As for my husband and I, we were shocked at how delicious this pizza was.  And, knowing that it was fat-free made it taste even better.  The best part for me was being able to eat an entire personal pizza by myself, and not being limited to 1-2 small slices.  Now, I can enjoy pizza again without the restrictions. :-)  Yum!

So, if you are fan of pizza, but don't like the added fat and calories that come along with it, why not give Pizza Fit 'N Free a try today?  Don't take my word on how great these little pizzas taste -- and, try it for yourself. :-)  Once you do, you will not want to go back to those frozen store-bought pizzas or take out pizza shop pizzas again.  And, being able to add your own favorite toppings makes it great for families to get creative and add flavors to their liking to these fat free cheese pizzas.
