Midnight Stallion - Arrives to DVD on March 5th (Review)

 Midnight Stallion

"A charming, coming of age story, Midnight Stallion centers on a young girl and her family who are rescued from their financial struggle by an unexpected guest. This inspirational family film stars Kris Kristofferson (Joyful Noise, Dolphin Tale), Jodelle Ferland (The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, ParaNorman), and Chelah Horsdal (Rise of the Planet of the Apes). Jack Shephard (Kristofferson) and his wife have tried just about everything to stay afloat through tough economic times. As they struggle to find new ways to keep their farm from foreclosure, their daughter Megan (Ferland) discovers a mysterious, wild stallion in a nearby meadow. Quickly forming a bond with the horse, Megan and her family soon realize that this fast and free companion could be the answer to their prayers. Celebrate the power of courage and determination when Midnight Stallion races onto DVD March 5. Featuring a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the film, the DOVE Foundation approved film will be available for the suggested retail price of $14.93."

My Thoughts:
Anything with Kris Kristofferson is a must see movie for me.  Like a fine wine, he seems to get better with age. :-)  Shh, don't tell my husband. :-)  This heartwarming film is one that the entire family will enjoy.  Even though you start to predict what will happen, it is nice to see this wholesome family movie play out.  And, like all movies that deal with families in financial hardship or turmoil, you find yourself rooting for them and hoping that there is a happy ending.  Don't worry, I will not ruin the ending for you. What I will say, however, is that the movie flows nicely and the scenery is simply breathtaking. Definitely a film worth picking up and adding to your family's collection, as it will be watched over and over again.
Disclosure: I was sent a copy of this DVD from the vendor in order to write up an honest review. The views above are mine and mine alone.
