    My Thoughts:

I was recently given the opportunity to sample a couple of the new Lean Cuisine Salad Additions, and ended up heading to market shortly thereafter to try the other two flavors.  :-)  If you follow my blog, then you know that one of my 2013 resolutions was to finally lose the remaining 10-12 lbs. of baby weight I gained and have been trying to lose since welcoming my daughters in 2010 and 2011.  I don't know about your, but trying to shed these remaining pounds has been a struggle, especially with the crazy days I have taking care of a soon to be 15 month old (who acts like she is 2) and a 2 1/2 year old.  I am lucky if I can get a shower in before the afternoon -- that is if they stay on their schedule and take an afternoon nap.  During their nap time, I also try to squeeze in a quick meal after my shower and tidy up the house, all before they wake up from their 1 hour nap.  But, on those days when they don't seem to want to cooperate and don't take a nap, I find myself reaching for sugary snacks to tide me over, as lunch is not an option.  This is a big no-no if you are trying to lose weight, as I find I can't stop reaching for candy, chips or other non-healthy foods, that we keep on hand (even though I try to keep them out of the house).

But, when I heard about the new Salad Additions line from Lean Cuisine, I got excited, as I thought this would be a great way to get my lunch in on these crazy days -- even if I had to stand in the kitchen picking on it -- while helping to stay on my diet.  Like I said, I have since sampled each of the four new flavors, and have to say that my favorites were the Bistro Chicken Salad with Sweet & Tangy Vinaigrette with Bacon and theCranberry & Chicken Salad with Raspberry Cabernet Vinaigrette.

What busy moms like myself (and stay-at-home dads) will like about this new product line from Lean Cuisine is how it comes with everything you need to make a great tasting salad, and that it only takes 2 1/2 minutes to cook up in the microwave.  Note, you need to buy a bag of salad to add the mix-ins to.  Or, why not try it over rice?  On a few occasions, I popped one of those microwave rice bags in the microwave for 90 seconds, and then pours the Lean Cuisine Salad addition over it -- Mmm, it tasted so good.  I couldn't get over how moist the chicken stayed, and how the vegetables didn't come out soggy -- like other microwave meals with these ingredients have in the past.  And, the dressings for each added to the overall flavor of the ingredients, making for a quick and easy, and oh so healthy meal for busy parents.  My husband has even found these Salad Additions to be a great grab and go meal for his lunches, when he is too busy to prepare something in the AM.  And, he, too, loves to eat the chicken and veggie medley over rice.

So, if you are looking for a quick and easy meal and love salads, then you will love the new Salad Additions from Lean Cuisine.
