My Thoughts:
I love it when classic storybook favorite are spun in a new direction, as it oftentimes leads to an entertaining new book or movie. That is the case with this recent DVD release from Anchor Bay Entertainment, which takes the classic Cinderella stories and turns it into a fun, animated film set in the Wild West. Yes, you read that right -- Wild West. Cowboy boots replace Cinderella's glass slippers, and other new adventures unfold as Cinderella the Cowgirl sets out to rid herself of her evil stepmother and stepsisters and find true love.
Even if young children are not familiar with this classic fable, they will enjoy the fun cast of furry and feathery characters and colorful animation. Be warned that you way want to sensor a few portions of this DVD, which include mild violence in the form of gunfights and brawls. And, the use of such words like "stupid" and "idiot" are used. Luckily I previewed this movie before sharing with my daughter and nieces, and was able to fast forward or take their attention away from the screen when these words were spoken or the violence was shown. Overall, this is a cute animated film that is loosely based on the popular fairytale, Cinderella, that will have boys and girls engaged from start to finish.
