A Review of SteveSongs' New CD, Orangutan Van, Releasing on Jan. 29th

"Get on board for an unforgettable ride on the Orangutan Van! SteveSongs' eighth album continues his tradition of entertaining while educating and laughing while learning, all wrapped up into what WERS-FM's The Playground calls "a lovingly created concoction of fun and smart." Hip, jazzy, quirky, and often hilarious songs are imbued with lessons that are sure to resonate with families. Enthuses kids' music authority Stefan Shepherd (Zooglobble.com), "If you just know him as Mr. Steve from PBS KIDS, then you're missing half the story. He's got a whole bunch of fun, often funny, music for a slightly older crowd."

Grumpy Boy, Recess Rocks and Bubbles are fast becoming fan favorites and Flat Stanley, the first single released from the album, has already made it to #1 on Sirius/XM's Kids Place Live."

My Thoughts:

If you and your children tune into PBS Kids, then you probably have seen seen and heard some of SteveSongs' fun songs.  When I first saw saw Mr. Steve, as he is known by most fans, on PBS Kids, I instantly became a fan.  I loved how his songs where not only fun and catchy to listen to, but that young children would also learn in the process through interacting and dancing along.

Even though we loved all the songs on this upcoming CD release, I have to say that the girls especially loved "Brush, Brush, Brush," which got them excited about brushing their teeth.  As a parent to young children who fight me tooth and nail each night to brush, thanks to Mr. Steve's catchy song, they don't hesitate anymore when I hand them their toothbrush.  Either I have the song playing for them to interact with, or I sing the song, as I pretend to brush my teeth with them.

My two favorite songs, which make me stop whatever I am doing to dance along with the girls is "A" is for Silly and "Bubbles."  But, like I said all 13 track are fun to listen to you and will you singing and dancing along.  I don't know what I would have done if I didn't have Mr. Steve's upcoming CD to play for the girls during our recent Christmas Eve trip to visit the relatives.  It kept them entertained in the back seat, as my husband and I found ourselves tapping our feet to the fun beats in the front seats. :-)

So, if your family are fans of Mr. Steve.  Who isn't?  Then, you will want to make sure you pick up new CD "Orangutan Van" when it releases on Jan. 29th.  If you act fast, he is still offering this CD as a pre-release as part of his holiday special on the SteveSongs' website -- so, you don't have to wait until the end of the month when this CD hits store shelves, to rock out to his music.

Disclosure: I was sent a copy of this CD from the vendor in order to write up an honest review.  The views above are mine and mine alone.
