Holiday Gift Ideas -- Limited Edition Red Keds for Taylor Swift Fans (Review)

Taylor Swift Red Keds Inset - P 2012
"Keds®, the iconic American lifestyle brand established in 1916, announced recently a multi-year partnership with six-time Grammy winning, multi-platinum singer-songwriter and style icon Taylor Swift.  Keds® has aligned with Swift, one of the most talented performers on the planet, because she embodies the Keds® spirit, style and sensibility.

"I'm so excited to be partnering with Keds®," said Swift. "I've been a fan of Keds® for years because they have two of my favorite elements of great style – they're classic and effortless."

"Taylor has become an inspiration to millions and a shining example of what can happen when you set your mind to something," said Keds® Brand President Rick Blackshaw. "Keds® resonates with bold, unique girls who are brave enough to be themselves. This understanding is the most important thing we share with our fans, and we're committed to helping girls everywhere look great but feel even better."

Via a multimedia campaign, Keds® will be encouraging young women to share their stories of strength, creating a global community of brave girls who inspire and motivate each other to live their lives to the fullest. The initiative will be supported by scholarship opportunities, social media initiatives, video content, and limited edition product perfect for every part of a girl's life.

"The Keds® team has amazing plans for the brand in 2013, and the company is investing deeply behind them," said Gregg Ribatt, President & CEO, Performance & Lifestyle Group.  "We're thrilled that Taylor is a part of this exciting time.""

The partnership kicked off with limited edition red Champions, the most iconic Keds® sneaker style, commemorating the release of Swift's latest album, Red.  They were just a huge hit that they sold out in record time.  But, not to follow, as Keds will be offering up another chance to get these popular shoes, when they go on sale again in a week or so.  To learn more and to sign up for an email notification on when they are available to order, head on over to

My Thoughts:

When Taylor Swift is not writing hit songs about bad breakups, she is making fashion statements with her signature bold red lipstick and gorgeous flowing curly, blond hair.  And, with the recent release of her new album, Red, Ked's released a limited edition pair of Red Champion shoes, to coincide with the release.  The shoes were so popular that the original inventory sold old, as do Taylor Swift's albums, in record time.  But, don't fret as a new inventory of shoes is set to become available in early December, just in time to pick up a pair for yourself or someone you know who likes red, making bold statements, and/or loves Taylor Swift. Who doesn't?

I was sent a pair of red Champion Keds shoes, similar to this limited edition pair, but without the word "red" on the back of the shoe.  As soon as I put them, I absolutely loved them.  Even though I am not one to push the envelope by wearing bright, bold colors, how could I resist these shoes?  I have been a fan of Keds since my parents bought me a white pair for cheerleading years ago.  And, since then, I find myself buying a new pair with each season.  They are especially great to wear with casual clothes in the summer.

So, with the holidays right around the corner, why not surprise the Taylor Swift fan in your life (or get a pair for yourself), with these limited edition red Champion shoes from Keds?
