When Brand New Readers visit Sesame Street, kids can't wait to read about it - all by themselves!

My Thoughts:

What child doesn't love Sesame Street?  We watch it at least once daily in our house.  Savannah loves Elmo and Abby Cadabby, while Arabella is a fan of Big Bird and Ernie.  So, as you can imagine, when I read this book to them for the first time, they both enjoyed it thoroughly.  Even though neither of my girls have begun reading, I know that when they begin learning, this book will come in handy.  With short sentences on each page, which have illustrations that depict the words, young readers will get excited about reading.  I let my 6 year old nephew show me how smart he was, as he helped me read the book to the girls, making a point to point things out after he read the sentences, like the flower floating on the water, etc.

The best part about this beginner reader book was that it was broken down into short stories.  This book had four stories in total, with about ten pages each.  The illustrations of Bert and Ernie on their camping adventure really make the story enjoyable to read and follow along.  I have read other books in this popular series with the girls, and we have loved each one.  This book will definitely be read over and over again by me, and then down the road, the girls will love picking it up and reading it as they practice their reading skills. :-)

Disclosure:  I was sent a copy of this book by the publisher in order to write up an honest review.  The views above are mine and mine alone.
