My Thoughts:

My dad got me hooked on this television series, when he was visiting last Thanksgiving for a week.  He asked it I had the FOX channel on cable as he didn't want to miss an episode of Terra Nov, which had premiered with a 2-hour episode on Sept. 26th.  Not knowing what it was about, I put the channel on for him and sat down to watch a few minutes of it.  A few minutes was all I needed, as was hooked.  After the episode aired, we chatted for a bit and he shared what had happened in previous episodes.  I then found myself scouring the Internet to find previous episodes to watch, so I could get caught up with the series.  The series ended on Dec. 19th, with a two-hour series finale.  I know myself and other Terra Nova fans were hoping Fox would renew this sci-fi drama series, but sadly they didn't.  Because I watch all the previous episodes in this short lived series, I couldn't wait to pick it up on DVD this past week.

If you like sci-fi adventure dramas, or Jurassic Park type movies, then you will love this short-lived television series.   This plot centered around the Shannon family, as they joined the Terra Nova (meaning "New Earth" colony in the prehistoric past.  Each episode was action packed and left you wondering what would happen next.  I love the suspense of television shows like this.  Too bad it was not picked up by another network, like many fans had hoped.  Yet again, another one of my must not miss weekly shows has come and gone.  But, at least I have this DVD set to watch whenever I want to get my Terra Nova fix.

Even though it will take me some time to watch the entire series again (including a few of the beginning episodes I missed), which is made up of over 564 minutes, I am up for the challenge. :-)  Not only will this give me something to watch when my dad comes to visit, but I am trying to get my husband hooked on it.  He hasn't seen an episode yet, but the way I talk about it, he is eager to see what Terra Nova is all about, and why I like it so much.  So, tonight for date night, we will be watching a few episodes. Can't wait!
