As a health educator, I am excited to share this week's Spotlight on Mom, Jammi Roscoe of Eat to Win LLC with you.  Before I became a stay-at-home/work-at-home mom back in 2010, I was going into schools and attending community health fairs, educating families about the importance of healthy eating, and how to making healthy food choices.  I would turn this educational lesson into a game, making it a fun way for kids, especially, to want to learn about and change their poor eating habits.  When I stumbled across Jammi's website, I was excited to see her offering games for families to play, teaching about nutritional and healthy eating.  I wish I had known about her games when I was in schools, as I would have definitely recommended them to teachers.

Jammi kindly sent me her two games for review, which I will share with you on Friday, along with a giveaway and coupon code.  But, today, I wanted to share my Spotlight interview with her.  Enjoy!

Briefly explain your business.  How did it come about?

It started with my youngest sons, who has always struggled with his weight.  I wanted to find a way to being healthy in a fun way.

What is a typical work day like?

Currently, I still work a full time job as a benefits account manager, and then I do my work for Eat to Win at night and weekends, until we get bigger!

What has been a struggle while starting up your company?

Knowing what to do to get my game out there so people about it.

What did you do in your past work life?

Benefits accounts manager for 15 years -- still working.

What have been some of your major successes?

The creation of two games I'm very proud of.

What have been some of your major challenges?

Juggling two jobs and trying to make time for everything.

On those impossible days, what motivates you to keep going?

My family is very supportive and helps me.

What is your balancing secret in managing a business and family?

I always put my family first! I will try hard to never schedule anything that makes me miss any games or be there for them.

What is next for your business?

To hopefully get known and grow, so that I can help children across the world.
Do you have any advice for other mom entrepreneurs that are starting out and struggling, or are on the fence about starting a business?

If you have a dream, never give up or stop dreaming because you never know what doors may open and just always put family and God first!
