Rubbermaid's New 2-in-1 Recycler (Review and Giveaway)

The 2-in-1 Recycler makes recycling easy! This two-unit bin allows you to either contain trash and recyclables all in one location or sort recyclables. My Thoughts:

I was sent a 2-in-1 Recycler to review and love it!  With two babies in the house, we go through a lot of formula and diapers.  So, on a weekly basis, I am throwing out empty cans and diaper cardboard.  Prior to receiving this compact recycler, we had brown bags or baskets next to the trash bin -- not very appealing, and a pain to take out when full.  Over time, I was finding that instead of recycling these items, we would just throw them in the trash, to take up less space next to the trash. This, in turn, cost us more in the long run, as we have to buy stickers for each trash bag we toss.  But, since using this new 2-in-1 Recycler from Rubbermaid, we have not only cut down on the number of trash bags we put out and need to buy stickers for, but we have begun teaching our 20 month old about recycler.  It is fun to watch her through recyclables in the bin. 

And, when the compartments get full, I simply lift the handy and durable handles of each basket and take outside.  The top bin rests comfortably on the lower section, which has a lever you can step on to make the drawer open, for easier disposing of recyclables.  I have found it easier to store cardboard and newspaper in the lower section, while cans and plastic containers are crushed and thrown into the top bin.  The only problem I have is when the lower bin is full.  When this occurs, I find the drawer features opens and has trouble staying shut, due to the weight of the cardboard and newspaper.  But, this is also a good things, as it prompts us to bring the bin outside and empty, so that we can continue to recycle and not go back to old habits of throwing in the trash, to make space.

What will Rubbermaid come up with next?  Their new 2-in-1 Recycler has make our lives so much easier, and so much organized when it comes to taking out the trash and sorting recyclables each week.
