Mother's Day Gift Giving Guide -- Capture a Moment in Time Thanks to Hallmark's New Recordable Books and Artwork Kits (Review and Giveaway)

This Mother’s Day, Hallmark introduces gifts and cards that give Moms and Grandmas a moment in time — a moment they can hold onto and revisit even when their little ones aren’t so little anymore. I was recently send the following Moment in Time gift pack from Hallmark to review.  The gift pack includes a variety of gifts and cards that capture a child’s personality and help celebrate moms and mother figures on Mother’s Day and beyond.

Mother’s Day “Moment in Time” Gift Pack

·         Kids have drawn pictures for moms for years, but Hallmark’s Recordable Artwork Canvas Art Kit takes a Mother’s Day drawing to the next level by capturing a child’s voice and the story behind his or her artwork. Equipped with a canvas panel, Crayola washable paints and a big imagination, kids can paint mom or grandma a masterpiece that is then inserted into a 9”x9” recordable frame.
·         For a unique and final touch, kids record a 40-second special Mother’s Day message into the frame and share their unique story behind their art. With the Canvas Art Kit, a mom can play back her child’s precious little voice and experience his or her big imagination on Mother’s Day and any day.
·         Available at Hallmark Gold Crown stores and anywhere Hallmark products are sold for $14.95.

·         Filled with open-ended questions that spark imaginative answers, “Mom and Me” and “Grandma and Me” Recordable Books capture the answers only a kid can give.
·         Within the book, kids record themselves answering a variety of questions, such as “If you and mom were aliens, what would you look like and what would you name your planet?” Or, “What does Mom do to show she loves you?”
·         Conversations to Keep: Recordable Books give Mom or Grandma a fun and easy way to capture the true personalities of her (grand) children so she can always remember that little voice and their time together.
·         Available at Hallmark Gold Crown stores for $24.95.
Mother’s Day Greetings (A variety of 3 Mother’s Day cards)

·         Hallmark is taking Mother’s Day cards to a new level with a variety of innovations, including light and animation, as well as pop-ups with mechanics so complex that a card designer works with a Hallmark paper engineer to design and construct it. Did you even know there was such a thing as a paper engineer?!
·        With these innovations, you can give a Mother’s Day card that has a thoughtful sentiment and an element of surprise – a card mom will want to hold onto for years to come.

I remember when I first had Savannah back in July of 2010, everyone kept telling me to enjoy her, as she will grow up fast.  At first, with the up all nights, colicky episodes, and then the teething, I didn't think was possible.  But, as the months passed and Savannah began rolling over, crawling, eating solids, walking, etc., I began to realize that these people were right -- children do grow up fast.  And, now with Arabella here, I look at both girls on a daily basis and notice again that time is flying by.  So, I continue to take photos and videos to document their milestones and beginning bonding as sisters, to not only share with them when they get older, but also as a way to preserve these special times of them when they were little, so I can watch as the years go by.  Thanks to Hallmark, they are helping to make preserving these special moments easier, with their new Conversations to Keep: Recordable Book and Recordable Artwork: Canvas Art Kit.

I ended up helping Savannah create a masterpiece with the Recordable Artwork: Canvas Art Kit , and had her record a special greeting for her Nana.  This was the first time Savannah used paints, so I made sure to include this in the message that was recorded.  This keepsake will be given to my mom this Mother's Day, and will surely be a hit and one gift my mother will treasure for years to come.  As for the Conversations to Keep: Recordable Book, Savannah is still learning to talk, so I used this book to record  her funny sayings,as well as the words she can speak now.  I can't wait until Savannah and Arabella get older and I can sit down and have them record their responses to the questions in this  recordable.  Children really do say the darnedest things, and with the help of Hallmark and their new Conversations to Keep recordable book, I will be able to capture this moments, along with their voices, to cherish, and share down the road.

I can't say enough about the greeting card quality and selection at Hallmark.  Whenever I need to give a birthday, holiday or special occasion card, I know that Hallmark will have just the right card, to help me get my feelings across.  And, with their selection of Mother's Day cards, the only problem I will have is choosing just one card.  I am loving their new pop up cards.  My husband took Savannah to Hallmark yesterday to pick cards out for me and her grandmothers this Mother's Day.  I can't wait to see the card she chooses, and see her smile when she hands me and her grandmothers our cards.

So, with Mother's Day right around the corner, head on over to your local Hallmark store to pick up their new recordable gifts for your children to personalize for Grandma or for you :-)

And, now from personal experience, I can say that they grow up fast.  But, thanks to these wonderful keepsake gifts from Hallmark, I have a great way to preserve these memories of their childhood, to enjoy and share as they get older.

  1. Very nice mother's day gift you I were 8 and my mother were 30 but unfortunately I am 30ish and my mother is getting on so the gift I have chosen for her is a senior value cell phone with large display screen and buttons. I know it's not a home made card but I can call her every day and I know she can call me from anywhere if she has a problem. I'll send her a mother's day text message!
