My Thoughts:

Even though my daughters are too young to have to worry about who they are chatting with, or what they are doing online, I know many moms from my mother's groups, who are dealing with this.  And, in a world where Facebook, Twitter and other social media sites plays a big role in socialization amongst teen and adults, the Chatman device really does come in handy.  


I tried this tech gadget out myself and couldn't believe at how well it filtered inappropriate content, and also reports dangerous or malicious websites that your child may have accessed.  While children enjoy the fun, interactive feature of the Chatman, parents can rest assured that their every move is being monitored and documented.  And, if by chance they begin viewing inappropriate content or engaging in an inappropriate chat, the Chatman will notify parents through a shout, whistle or scream (which you set up in the control settings).  Setup was easy, and within 15 minutes of taking the Chatman out of the box, it was ready and interacting with me, as I perused chatting and game sites.  Young children will love how this yellow guy interacts, with eyes moving, his mouth lighting up, and how he responds to incoming chat messages.  It is amazing how the Chatman's mood changes when he detects different behaviors.

I recently showed off the Chatman when I had a few moms over for Mommy and Me time.  Each of them had children over the age of 9, who they let use the family computer.  Even with parental controls and safeguarding, they are always concerned with what their children are able to access online.  But, once they saw this gadget in action, they each said it was a must have for parents of tweens and teens.  One mom was ready to head home and order one for her family.


When the time comes when Savannah and Arabella are allowed to use the family computer, I will definitely be using the Chatman to monitor their use.  And, when I hear the Chatman whistling or screaming, I will come a running to see what is going on.
