My Thoughts:

If you follow my blog, then you know my oldest daughter, Savannah loves all the Sesame Street characters, especially Elmo and Abby Cadabby.  So, when I show her this new set of 4 books for beginner readers, she couldn't stop clapping and smiling.  So, when I put her little sister down for a nap the other day, Savannah and I snuggled up on the couch, as I read each short book to her.  While I was reading, she played with her Sesame Street plush toys, and when I spoke of a certain character, she would proudly show that toy to me.  Even though the stories were short, she loved seeing all her favorite Sesame Street friends.

What I loved most about this new "brand new readers" set is that young readers will enjoy learning and practicing their reading skills with these easy to understand stories.  As a parent, you can encourage them to read by telling them to sound out the words.  And, if they get stuck, they will be able to understand the words based on the illustrations.  I can't wait to use these books with Savannah and Arabella, when they begin to read.  These books are truly a great tool to help young readers.

Disclosure: I was sent a copy of this book by the publisher in order to write up an honest review.  The views above are mine and mine alone.
