Warm Up With a Hot Cup of Hot Chocolate from Hot Chocolate Bliss This Winter (Review)

As many of you know, I am a huge chocoholic.  I especially love drinking hot chocolate during the cold winter months, and year round :-)  Each Christmas, it has become tradition for my parents to give me my favorite hot chocolate mixes, which will last during the cold winter months here in Connecticut.  They always surprise me with a few new hot chocolate brands to try.  Over the years, I have found that shaved chocolate mixes are the best, but I am always open to trying out new brands.  So, when I recently stumbled across HotChocolateBliss.com, I was in chocolate heaven.  This website, created by a mom, is devoted to hot chocolates.  Donna offers hot chocolate from various vendors, including Lake Champlain Chocolates, Land O Lakes, Godiva, Ghiradelli and Stephen's Hot Chocolate.  Donna kindly sent me a sample of Lake Champlain Chocolates All Natural Hot Chocolate to try.

Even though this hot chocolate didn't contain shaved chocolate pieces, I have always been a fan of Lake Champlain chocolates since visiting VT years ago.  Surprising, I had never tried this hot chocolate mixes, so I was in for a treat.  As soon as I received the sample in the mail, I made a cup of hot chocolate.  I tried to wait until my husband came home and we had dinner, but just smelling the ground, organic cocoa, I was in a chocolate trance and needed to try it.  I loved how this mix called for milk, instead of water.  I find that when you use water in making hot chocolate, the final product tastes like water, with chocolate mixed in.  But, when you use milk, it provides a rich, creamy texture that only compliments the cocoa.  With this mix, you had to use 2 heaping tablespoons for each 8 oz. of milk.  I prepared my hot chocolate on the stove top, and in minutes was enjoying a hot cup of rich and creamy hot chocolate.

This 16 oz. container of hot chocolate mix yields 21 servings.  You would think this would last awhile in my house.  Sorry, but as the week winds down, I am almost done with the container.  I have found myself beginning and ending each day with a cup of this chocolaty goodness.  I am so happy that Donna and her family have created this amazing and unique business.  Now, I don't have to scower the Internet trying to find hot chocolate brands to try.  Instead, a quick trip to HotChocolateBliss.com, and I can find top hot chocolate brands and a variety of flavors.  I know where I will be heading when I need to get a hot chocolate fix, and to order gifts for family and friends throughout the year.

Stay tuned in the coming months, as I will be doing a Spotlight on Mommy post with the owner of HotChocolateBliss.com, Donna Richardson.

Disclosure: I was sent a sample from the vendor in order to write up an honest review.  The views above are mine and mine alone.
