My Thoughts:

I was lucky enough to attend a sneak preview the other night with my mother, and we had such a good time.  I wasn't sure if my husband would be up a for a romance film, but knew my mom wanted to see the movie after seeing the movie previews on television, and having read the book this movie was based off ofThe Vow: The Kim & Krickett Carpenter Story,” which came out in 2000.

This is a very inspiration movie and one that shows that love conquers all, and if you let your heart love, it is the best feeling in the world.  I can't' imagine what I would have done if I was Krickett and had lost my memory.  Would I stay with a man I don't remember, just based off of a history we have together?  Would my husband stay for me, in hopes that my memory comes back, or we hope the stars aline again and we fall back into love?  These are hard questions to answer, and ones I hope I never have to confront.  But, seeing Kim and Krickett's story be brought to the big screen and showing how they deal with this, was both moving and very powerful.

I have been a huge fan of Rachel McAdams since seeing her in The Notebook and Wedding Crashers.  She, along with Channing Tatum, who was in Dear John, have a wonderful chemistry on the big screen.  You forget that they are just acting, and not the real Kim and Krickett -- their performances are so believable and touching.

With Valentine's Day around the corner, this movie would make for the perfect "date night" movie, or movie to catch with a group of your girlfriends.  Yes, it is a romantic tear jerker -- so, husbands come prepared with extra tissues.  My mother and I went through almost a whole box in one sitting.  I am so happy knowing that through their shared faith, that the real Kim and Krickett recently celebrated their 18th wedding anniversary, and have two children.  This was truly an amazing movie and well worth the night out and ticket price.  I can't wait to pick this movie up when it comes to DVD!

Disclosure:  I was able to attend an advance screening of this movie thanks to Grace Hill Media.  The views above are mine and mine alone.
