Summary:

One bright day, Mouse and Momma head outside to play. The wind blows in something feathery and plump -- a bird, and something wiggly and pink -- a worm, and something green, who hops and leaps -- a frog. But before it's time to go back inside, Mouse finds something that's soft and new with petals... the prettiest flower he's ever seen!

Could it mean spring is finally here?

A mouse and its mother experience the delights of nature on a windy spring day.

My Thoughts:

What a great book to share with you little, and introduce them to one of seasons, Spring.  I fell in love with cute illustrations, the first time I read this quick and easy read with Savannah.  Savannah loved the rhyming text, as well as the beautiful illustrations that really brought this book about Spring to life.  The little mouse and his Momma are cute, thanks to the illustration work by Buket Erdogan.  You can't help but want to flip the pages of this board book with your little ones and see what they discover while playing and enjoying a beautiful Spring day.

Because we are still in Winter, and there are snow days ahead of us, it is nice to be reminded that Spring is right around the corner.  After reading this book to my daughter the other day, my husband took her for a stroll in our backyard, and what did they see?  Daffodil bulbs begins to break through the ground!!!!  Finally, Winter is winding down and Spring is knocking at our door, waiting to shower our yard with bursts of color, from flowers to green grass growing.

So, if you are looking for a fun and easy-to-read book, to share with your little ones, why not pick up a copy of Mouse's First Spring by Lauren Thompson today?
