Valentine's Day Gift Giving Guide -- Gifts for Kids -- Play with your Food Game (Review)

If you are a parent of a young child, then you know how stressful mealtime can be.  Either your children are picky eaters, or they just play around with their food, not really eating much.  Instead of enjoying a nice meal together, you are forced to watch and make sure that they are eating, and that they are eating a balanced meal.

Thanks to Daydream Toys, they have created Play with your Food game, which will surely make mealtime fun and more enjoyable for both parents and children.

How the Play with your Food game Works:

This colorful dining set includes Plate (game board), Mug & Spinner. The plate is divided into four different areas. Just place one type of food in each section of the plate and unleash the fun. Mealtime turns into playtime as each tot takes their turn at spinning the dial. The spinner instructs kids what to eat next. Taste buds will always be on their toes as they’ll never have the same meal twice....and they won’t even notice that they are enjoying a healthy dining experience.

Plate and mug made of durable melamine. Dishwasher safe. Not for use in the microwave. Spinner wipes clean.

Item size (boxed): 10" x 11.75" x 3.5"         Ages 1+
Item No. 901 (Transportation), 902, 904 (Dinosaurs), 905 ( Fairy Princess)

Savannah is not a picky eater, but there are days she would prepare to have snacks instead of a well balanced meal.  When we are having one of those days, I simply pull out her fairy princess dining set and make a game of lunch or dinner.  I will add different foods to each section, like vegetables in two, starch in another, the entree in the larger section. Then, we spin the spinner and see what it lands on.  Instead of fighting with Savannah to eat her peas and carrots, if the spinner lands on this section, she has to take 1-2 bites of her food.  What a great concept this game is.  It has made my life as a mom so much easier, when it comes to meal time with my daughter.  Now, I look forward to sitting down to the table to eat with Savannah, as I know with the help of the Play with your Food game dining set, she will see that meal time can be enjoyable.  And, as a parent, I can make sure she is having a healthy meal, and eating everything on her plate.
