Must See Movies–Glee The Concert, On DVD and Blu-Ray

I have been sharing recent press releases and news about Glee and their recently released Glee The Concert DVD.  But, today, I wanted to share my thoughts after watching the DVD over the weekend.

Yes, I am a grown adult and a Gleek!  I admit it, and am proud of it.  If you have seen the television show, you can’t help but sing along to the popular songs they sing.  I find myself singing along and smiling.  The show just puts you in a good mood.

So, as you can imagine, I couldn’t wait to receive the DVD in the mail to review.  And, it was great timing, as we ended up staying in all weekend due to a nasty head cold we have been passing back and forth for a few weeks.  Instead of popcorn and a movie, we sat around the table with warm bowls of chicken noodle soup and watched Glee The Concert.  This is a must-see DVD if you missed the concert when the Glee gang toured last year.  Or, if you were lucky enough to see it live, this DVD will help you relive the toe-tapping fun you had.  From start to finish, I was singing along, while my husband looked at me like I had two heads.  I didn’t care.  Both my daughter and I found the strength to get up and dance to a few songs.  My favorite part was the introductions by Sue Sylvester and the special guest appearance on stage by Gwyneth Paltrow.  Also, there was a young boy who was Blain’s #1 fan.  He dressed up in the same outfit as Blain, and sang and danced along to the performances.  It was so cute to see him, and put a smile on my face, as I turned and watched my daughter point and dance along happily.

This movie has since been watched a few more times, and I know it will be watched again and again, as it offers many of the hit songs from the television show, that us Gleeks have grown to love and watch over and over again.
