Feature Friday -- SnoozeShade (Review and Giveaway)

Closed.  Congrats to Bloomerbear!!!

Do you . . .

  • Get tired of pegging muslins or draping blankets over your pram to help baby sleep?
  • Find the sun and bright light prevents your baby from nodding off?
  • Feel frustrated when baby can’t switch off when there's too much going on?
  • Want to encourage good sleeping habits and better napping when baby is out?

SnoozeShade Original, the UK's first universal blackout blind for prams and strollers, can help.

SnoozeShade Original is a unique blackout blind for prams, carrycots, pushchairs and buggies. This innovative baby sleep product was created by a British mother specifically to help babies and toddlers sleep for as long as needed in a pram or pushchair.

Made from a double layer of soft dark breathable fabric, SnoozeShade Original provides a shady and well-ventilated sleep environment by blocking 94% of light.

It's what mums have been waiting for - a simpler, safer, lightweight and secure alternative to draping coats or blankets - and, above all, it works.

It’s the UK’s first sleeping-on-the-go solution for babies and it's great for holidays, in restaurants or anytime you have to be out during baby’s naptime.

Its patent-pending design shuts out the world to help keep sleeping babies snoozing in their pushchairs and helps alert babies to switch off enough to allow them to fall asleep.

With UPF50+ protection, SnoozeShade Original can be used all year round.

It’s simple and easy to check on your sleeping baby using the ‘sneak-a-peek’ zip at the front.

Compact and lightweight, SnoozeShade Original is small enough to hang off pram handles or leave in your change bag, handbag or stroller basket to use when you need it. When naptime is over, just pop it away into its storage bag.

  • Elasticated top and sides with easy-to-attach Velcro straps ensure SnoozeShade Original fits easily to most popular prams and strollers.
  • Bright coloured trim and straps are useful to give some extra visibility for you and your stroller.
  • Protects babies from the sun with the highest level of sun protection – UPF50+.
  • Tested to all current British, European and US safety standards.

My Thoughts:

I was sent a sample of the SnoozeShade to review and share my thoughts with you.  Like I said my Spotlight on Mommy introduction (click here if you missed my interview with the creator of the SnoozeShade, Cara Sayer), I am just loving this product.  Since welcoming our second daughter back in November of last year, I have been able to shelter Arabella both from the UV-Rays, as well as the cold and windy New England winter. What I love most about the SnoozeShade is how quick and easy it is to attach to the infant carrier or the stroller.  With two children under the age of 2, and one being a newborn, I don't have the luxary to fiddle with bunting bags and other so-called car seat and stroller covers -- which are not easy to attach and don't really do their job.  In seconds, I am able to put on and take off the SnoozeShade.  And, when it is time to shift the infant carrier into the stroller, I can easier make the SnoozeShade cover the stroller in seconds.  This is a lifesaver, as I don't have to pack or carry around a separate stroller cover.  When we only had Savannah, this was the one thing we would always forget to bring with us.  And, now with two young children, I am lucky if I remember to bring formula and extra diapers.  So, the last thing I need to worry about bringing is a cover for the carrier or stroller.

If you have an infant or toddler at home, you know what a pain it can be to try and cover your infant carrier with a blanket and walk around while the wind blows the blanket all around.  Even though we are "Supermoms," :-) we don't have multiple hands to hold the blanket on the carriers securely.  And, while indoors, don't you want to see your precious bundle?  If you are using a blanket, you have to continually remove and replace the blanket, just to check on baby.  Not with the SnoozeShade.  Simply unzip the opening and peek inside, as you bundle of joy quietly sleeps in their make-shift cacoon.  Worried about ventilation?  Don't! The SnoozeShade's is made of breathable fabric, which provides adequate ventilation, while keeping your baby safe from the elements.

I wish I had the SnoozeShade back when I had Savannah, as one of the biggest headaches as a new mom was trying to keep the sun out of her eyes while she slept in the backseat, or keeping her sheltered when I was out in about with her in her carrier or stroller.  Thanks to Cara and her invention, travel with Arabella is so much easier, thanks in part to the SnoozeShade.

Have a little one of your own, or know someone who is expecting or recently had a baby, why not consider picking up a SnoozeShade today.  This is one baby product investment that you will actually use!
