Manna Organics–A Different Kind of Bread (Review and Giveaway)

If you haven’t had sprouted Manna bread before: It’s not really bread. It can be best described as a meal of whole sprouted grains, moist and denser than bread. Muffin- or cakelike in consistency. Baked at low temperatures for a short time – almost raw. Nothing like other sprouted breads out there! It doesn’t rise, has no yeast, no salt, no flour, no oils. Very delicious and different.
Their sourdough breads are Bavarian style, much denser and flavorful than your typical sandwich bread. Tastes great and is very different compared to the American or San Francisco style sourdough breads.
I had never tried spouted bread before,
so I didn’t know what I was in store for.  A lover of bread, I am always on the lookout for great breads to sample.  So, when I heard about Manna Bread and their Bavarian Style sprouted breads, I had to see what it was all about.  I was sent a sampling of their breads to try – Banana Walnut hemp sprouted bread, Fruit and Nut Sprouted Bread , Bavarian Rye Sourdough Bread and Sunny Sourdough -- and, have to say it was a unique experience.  Having been  used to soft, moist breads, usually fresh out of the oven, I was surprised at the texture and consistency of this bread.  Instead of being soft, it was more cakelike and at times crumbly.  I felt like I was eating a muffin instead of bread. 

Even though the bread’s consistency and texture were different, it didn’t lack in the flavor department.  After the first bite, I was hooked on this sprouted bread.  Out of the four flavors sent my way, I have to say my favorites were the Banana Walnut Hemp sprouted bread and the Sunny Sourdough bread.  Both made for great breakfast meals, and left me full and satisfied.  There was no need to add butter or jams to the breads, as the flavors themselves really came through with each bite.  Yes, the consistency was heavier than most breads, but it also packed a lot of fresh and organic ingredients that other breads don’t.
