SHELF LIFE
Debbie’s Rugelach will maintain their flavor and texture for several months in the freezer. They can be stored at room temperature or refrigerated in an air tight container for at least a couple of weeks. They are great warm, too. You can take them straight from the freezer or at room temperature to the microwave for 30-40 seconds.

My Thoughts:
One of the reasons I look forward to Christmas dinner at the folks house is that they pick up homemade Rugelach from a bakery in Boston, that is just to die for. We have been getting an assorted tray, including chocolate chip and raspberry and apple preserves, since I was a little girl. The dessert table is not complete without this tasty and dainty puffed pastry dessert.
So, when I was recently sent samples of Debbie’s Rugelach to try, I wasn’t expecting this brand to knock my socks off – but, it did. Don’t tell my folks, but Debbie’s Decadent Chocolate Chip Rugelach was better than the chocolate chip one I have been eating for years. I think what put this one over the top was the added cinnamon. It added an extra touch of sweetness, on top of the mouth watering chocolate chips. Before my husband made it home from work, I had already eaten the entire tray of these Rugelach.
I am not a big fan of apricot, so my husband was able to eat those all himself. Never having had Rugelach before (as he doesn’t like to eat many sweets at a holiday meal), he was pleasantly surprised at how light and flakey these puffs where, and how they were able to contain so much flavor. He kept dipping them in his coffee, while I just ate them individually, and then followed it up with a tall glass of cold milk.
I will give my parent’s go-to bakery one more try this Christmas, but now, I have another option when it comes to satisfying my Rugelach cravings.
