Summary:

Get on board the Dinosaur Train with Buddy, an adorable dinosaur, and his adoptive Pteranodon family as they embark on nine whimsical voyages in the DINOSAUR TRAIN:  T-REX TALES DVD available from PBS Home Video and Paramount Home Entertainment.  In these special adventures, Buddy travels to Rexville, home of the Tyrannosaurus Rex dinosaurs, and learns that he too is a Tyrannosaurus!

Kids can learn fun and fascinating new facts about the dinosaurs while traveling through prehistoric jungles, swamps, volcanoes and oceans.  “Dinosaur Train” embraces and celebrates the fascination that preschoolers have with both dinosaurs and trains while encouraging basic scientific thinking and skills.  Perfectly timed to the holiday gift-giving season, the DINOSAUR TRAIN: T-REX TALES DVD includes a bonus holiday episode, interactive games, coloring pages, Dr. Scott’s Segments and a reference guide for parents.

My Review:

My daughter is a huge fan of the Dinosaur Train series airing on PBS.  Every morning we watch this after she gets up from her nap.  This is the best time of the day, as I love watching my daughter dance around to the theme song and then sit there and watch the show, while babbling back to the television, like she is having a conversations with the characters. I especially love this series, as children learn about dinosaurs after the show from a real paleontologist.  I think my daughter loves this series because of the trains, as she also enjoys watching Thomas and Friends, as well as the catchy music and great animations.

So, when I was sent a copy of this DVD to review, I couldn’t wait to see my daughter’s reaction. She grabbed the DVD out of my hands and ran over to the television, pointing to the DVD player for me to play the movie.  But, I made her wait until Daddy came home, so we could all watch it together.  The other night, after dinner, we all got into our pajamas and snuggled on the couch, as we watch DINOSAUR TRAIN: T-REX TALES DVD.  My husband had never seen the show, so I couldn’t wait to hear what he thought.  He loved the animation and storyline.  He loved how children learn about the age of the dinosaurs, as well as the bonus interactive games on this DVD.

Overall, we had a wonderful evening watching DINOSAUR TRAIN: T-REX TALES DVD, as well as watching our daughter, Savannah enjoy every minute of it.  What a great way to bond as a family, while watching a family-friendly and educational DVD.  I will definitely be sharing this DVD with friends, as their children love watching DINOSAUR TRAIN.

Disclosure:  I was sent a copy of this DVD from the vendor in order to write up an honest review.  The views above are mine and mine alone.
