Summary:

101 Stories of Inspiration, Humor, and Wisdom about Life at a Certain Age

Life begins again at 60! Crossing that magic age might bring a few new wrinkles but also new experiences. This collection is full of humorous and fun adventures from those who are actively enjoying their "senior years!" Chicken Soup for the Soul: Inspiration for the Young at Heart celebrates the fun and wonder of getting older with its stories about dynamic older singles and couples finding new careers, new sports, new love, and new meaning to their lives. This book will amuse and invigorate readers.

My Thoughts:
"You are much deeper, much broader, and much brighter than any idea you could have of yourself." ~ Harry Palmer
"It is only in adventures that some people succeed in knowing themselves -- in finding themselves." ~ Andre Gide
In addition to reading this book myself, I let my mom read it as it was more fitting to her and her age.  This title follows suit with the other Chicken Soup for the Soul books, in that is offers 101 inspirational and at times humorous stories for the reader to enjoy.  This title is geared towards the aging population and offers wisdom and inspiration through stories of retirement, dating and finding love in our old age, and just enjoying the process of aging.  My mother said it was hard for her to choose a favorite story, as each one of the 101 inspirational stories were great.  As she is nearing retirement age, she is afraid of being financial set, wondering what she will do with her free time, and overall what will happen as she nears the inevitable. Through this book, she is comforted with each heartfelt story she read and feels she can face the road ahead in a more positive light.  Aging is not the end of the world, and we will all walk this path one day (hopefully)  But, thanks to those who contributed stories in this book, it makes planning for retirement and aging more bearable and less scary.

Even though this title can be enjoyed by readers of all ages, it is more poignant for the aging population and those near or in the retirement stage.  However, each story provides wisdom and inspiration that even the younger audience can relate to and carry with them as they age, or deal with aging parents.  This book really shows that life begins at 60, and that the adventures continue to get better and taste sweeter!
