Product Review and Giveaway: YoCrunch Greek Yogurt

YoCrunch Greek recently sent me 2 coupons try try their Greek yogurt.  There are 4 flavors currently available --  Honey, Strawberry, Blueberry, and Peach.  Each container includes a little cup of granola that you can add into your non-fat yogurt to give it a little crunch.  This is great for those people who like to add just a little or the entire container.  I added all the granola and have to say that the blueberry yogurt was my favorite.  It was so delicious and creamy.  And, the granola gave it that extra kick.  I also tried the peach flavor, but found the flavor less pronounced.  If you are a fan of Greek yogurt and granola, why not give YoCrunch Greek Non-Fat Yogurt a try today.  Below are coupons you can print out for savings at the market, as well as a giveaway!

Here is the nutritional information for YoCrunch's Blueberry Greek Yogurt in Blueberry.  You can find the nutritional information on the other 3 flavors here.

Product Review: Ayala's Herbal Water

Closed.  And, the winner is:  Jackie V.

Ayala’s Herbal Water®, the leader in organic, herb-infused water recently sent me a sampling of their 6 flavors to taste test and share my thoughts.  I am not a huge fan of water and find it hard to drink the recommended 64 oz. of fluids/water daily.  And, with this pregnancy, I have been craving more sugary beverages like juices and sodas.  But, as a health educator, I also know how important it is to drink plenty off water to help flush the wastes from your body.  So, I thought, why not give this award-winning herbal water a try.  Who knows, maybe I would like?

"Ayala’s Herbal Water® is the first to offer a zero-calorie, organic infusion delivering sophisticated refreshment through the complex flavors of culinary herbs."Culinary herbs are the natural way to add real flavor and enhance any food or drink.  For centuries, they have been prized for their calming, stimulating, and aphrodisiac qualities.  Ayala's flavored water harnesses the power of these natural wonders in a delightfully refreshing, mellow, yet complex, aromatic drink.  Enjoy a straight-from-the-garden taste of organic herbal extracts and the crisp freshness of artesian water in every sip."

After spending the past week sampling each of the 6 exotic flavors sent to me, I have to say my top 3 favorites were:  Lavender Mint, Cinnamon Orange Peel and Ginger Lemon Peel.  An added bonus was that I received a pairing card with the samples, so it explained the best foods to eat while sampling each herbal water.  In addition, they offered up cocktail suggestions for a little pick me up.  I was not too fond of the Lemon Verbena Geranium flavor, though.  It smelled too perfumey, and was a turn off while drinking.

Overall, I was impressed with Ayala's herbal water and surprised at the flavor of each bottle, which was achieved with the use of culinary herbs.  If you are a fan of powered flavor water mix-ins or flavor drops, I would highly suggest that you try Ayala's herbal water.  To me, there is more flavor in these herbal waters than you get with the mix-ins.

Feature Friday -- Lil' Supgarplum -- No-Slip Hair Clips for Babies and Girls, and Much More...

Lil' Sugarplum is an online store that offers an assortment of fun and playful baby hair clips, baby hair bows, baby headbands and other little baby hair accessories, all made by a stay at home mom.  Once I found out that these hair accessories were created by another mom entrepreneur, I knew I had to share her product line with you.

One of the perks of having a baby girl is being able to dress her up in pretty dresses and outfits and do her hair.  But, as you know, a baby's hair is so fine, that it usually doesn't hold a hair clip or ponytail.  And, right now, my daughter, Savannah has more hair in the back of her head than in the front, so even using a headband doesn't look right.
I am trying to enjoy doing her hair now, as I know that when she gets older she will want to style it the way she wants and may not even like to use clips, bows and other hair accessories.  So, saying this, I was sent a sample hair clip from Monique's store to try out with Savannah.  Just look at how cute Savannah looked with the yellow hair clip:

I showed her herself in the mirror and she began to smile and baby talk.  Then, when I took it out, I was surprised at her reaction.  She was upset with me and wanted it back in her hair.  I gave her the hair clip to see what she would do, and she tried to slide it in her hair.  After a few attempts and seeing it fall to the floor, I put the hair clip back in her hair and she was all smiles again.
Overall, I was excited that I found a hair clip made especially for babies that would stay in place.  If you have a little girl at home who likes hair accessories or having Mommy do her hair, you need to head on over to Lil' Sugarplum's today and check out Monique's cute hair accessories and other items.  Not only will you be getting a product to enjoy with your little girl, but you will also be supporting a stay-at-home mom and her business.
SPECIAL OFFER:

Head on over to Lil' Sugarplum today and buy 1 $8 hair clip, get 1 $8 hair clip FREE.
( E-mail freebie, don't add to shopping cart. Expires: December 1, 2011, so act fast before your favorite clips are gone.

Feature Friday -- Little Miss Creations -- Autumn Apple Pie Gel Candle Review

As many of you know, I like to hunt down handmade products, including soaps and candles, and especially love it when the creator is another mom.  Well, today I wanted to share Little Miss Creations with you, which is run by Holly, a single mother of 2.  She creates her wonderful product line, which consists of candles (soy, gel and pillar), bar soaps, body scrubs, bath salts and hand and body lotions, with the help of her children.  She cherishes this time together with them, as she is also a full-time student, so finding quality time as a family is limited.  Together, they can enjoy a hobby that they fell in love with a few years ago, all while providing customers like you and I with exceptional handmade goods.  Every item in Holly's online store would make a great gift for a family member or friend, or why not treat yourself to lovely smelling candle or pamper yourself with some of her bath products.

I had the opportunity to try out her 4 oz. Autumn Apple Pie candle (which retails for only $4.25) over the weekend and have been loving the fresh apple scent it has left behind.  Shortly after burning this gel candle for an hour, my husband came home from the local park with our daughter, and thought that I had baked an apple pie with the apples we had picked the day before.  Boy was he devastated when he realized it was just a candle.  Since then, I ended up baking a pie to satisfy his (and my) sweet tooth, and have continued to burn this gel candle each day.  I can't get over how long the candle life is on a gel candle compared to wax and other candles.  And, each and every time I burn the candle, it still lets off the sweet smelling aroma of a fresh baked apple pie.  I wish there was a scratch and sniff widget that I could add to this post so you could see how wonderful this candle actually smells.  But, no one has invented such technology yet, so you just have to head on over to Little Miss Creations today and pick up this or another scented candle today to smell for yourself.

Product Review: al fresco Chicken Sausages and Meatballs

I recently had the opportunity to try out an assortment of al fresco chicken sausages from Kayem Foods, Inc.  Originally from Massachusetts, I remember heading into Boston/Chelsea for doctor's appointments and driving by the Kamen Foods factory.  You could smell the hot dogs from what felt like miles away.  You knew you were in Boston when you could this -- it was great!  And, being a Red Sox fan, I have been buying and serving Kayem hot dogs to family and friends for years.  So, when I was presented with the opportunity to try out their al fresco chicken sausage product line, I jumped at the offer.  This would be more first experience in eating sausages that weren't made out of pork -- but, I was game, after being a faithful Kayem Foods customers for over 20 years.

I was sent the following al fresco products to try.  Below each short description is my personal thoughts on each product.

al fresco Apple Maple Breakfast Chicken Sausage 7 links/8 oz package -- A delicate blend of apples and pure Vermont maple syrup.

My Thoughts:  What I liked most about this product and the others I sampled is that each package of sausages are fully cooked, so you only have to reheat in the microwave, broil or grill.  This is such a time-saver as a busy mom.  I ended up cooking these breakfast sausages Monday night, as part of our weekly breakfast for dinner meal.  We had eggs, homefries, toast and in place of bacon, I used al fresco Appl Maple Breakfast Chicken Sausage.  When my husband first looked at the sausages, he wondered why they were pale in color.  I told him that they were chicken, to his appointment.  But, I said you have to try them and see what you think.  They are a healthy alternative to greasy pork processed ones we are used to eating.  To make me happy, he agreed to try out.  He was pleasantly surprised at how good they tastes.  He could taste the apples and maple syrup, which was pleasing to the pallet.  By the end of dinner, we only 2 sausages left -- so, you can take it that is was a hit.  We will definitely be buying these sausages again, and also will seek out their other breakfast sausage flavors, including country style and wild blueberry.

al fresco Spicy Jalapeño Chicken Sausage 4 links/12 oz. per package -- Spicy Jalapeño peppers coupled with fire-roasted sweet red peppers.

My Thoughts:  My husband ended up eating these sausages, as spicy foods have been giving me acid reflux near the end of my pregnancy.  I made pasta one night and ended up broiling these sausages, so they looked grilled to my husband.  After heating up the sauce, I ended up a few of the sausages up into coin-shapes and added them to the sauce.  I was trying to disguise the fact that he was eating chicken sausages.  As he ate the pasta with the sausage sauce, he said he liked how the sausages were spicy and had a nice bite to them.  I waited until he was done eating to let him in on the secret -- he just ate chicken sausages.  When I finally told him, again, he was surprised at the taste.  His reaction was, "I guess we have a new sausage option that is healthy and tastes good, even if they don't look at appealing with the pale color."  So, again, I have added this to the list of foods to buy again at the market.

al fresco Sweet Italian Style Chicken Sausage 4 links/12 oz. per package -- A traditional favorite enhanced with fresh red and green peppers.

My Thoughts:  We had these sausages tonight.  While I had it with pasta and sauce, my husband opted to make a sausage sub.  After biting into the al fresco Sweet Italian Style Chicken Sausage, we couldn't believe that you could actually see and make out the fresh red and green peppers that were added to the sausage.  These sausages had just the right sweetness to them, that they gave the meal a nice flavor.  My husband ended up having 2 subs, which is unlike him.  But, he said that seeing that they were made of chicken, they were healthy and thus he could have two subs.  I especially liked them served with the pasta and sauce.  Once on the plate, it looked like I spent 20-30 minutes in the kitchen preparing a meal that only took 10 minutes.  And, with no sausages left, clean up was a breeze.

al fresco Teriyaki Ginger Chicken Meatballs 16/ 12 oz per package -- Al fresco all natural chicken meatballs are made from lean skinless chicken meat and only the finest herbs and spices. They have absolutely no artificial ingredients, fillers, MSG or preservatives and are pork free and gluten free.

My Thoughts:  I ended up using the recipe on the back of the package, as I wasn't sure how to pair Teriyaki Ginger meatballs with other side dishes we usually eat.  So, I ended up making an Asian stir fry and added the meatballs, along with stir fry mix and served it all over white rice.  It was delicious!  And, after cooking up the meatballs on the stove, it make the house smell good.  The meatballs weren't greasy like others we buy and cook up from market.  And, you could really taste the teriyaki and ginger flavors. This is definitely a dish I will be cooking up again.  Next time, though, I was to try their tomato basil flavored meatballs. Yum!!!

Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed each of the alal fresco chicken sausages and meatballs at your local market.  You will be glad you did!

Don't forget to follow al fresco on Facebook and Twitter for news and special offers.

Product Review -- Tooth Soap, The All-Natural Alternative to Toothpaste!

Feel a cleaner difference after the very first brushing with Tooth Soap®!

Tooth Soap® is the world's leading non-toxic, all natural and organic alternative to
toothpaste and is manufactured in the USA in a gluten free and kosher facility.

Prior to becoming a stay-at-home mom to Savannah, and mom entrepreneur, I was a health educator and taught classes and attended health fairs at businesses and schools, where dental hygiene was always a popular topic.  So, when I found out there was a product on the market called Tooth Soap, it sparked my curiosity.  I wondered how it tasted?  Was it really soap?  What makes this so different from other toothpastes and whiteners?  Etc.....Etc...

What drew me to this products besides curiosity was that it was made with pure and wholesome ingredients -- So, no synthetic chemicals here.  I was sent samples of their Tooth Brightener and Tooth Gel, and  spent the past week trying them out.  At first, I tried to enlist my husband as a product tester, but he just looked at me when I said Tooth Soap and showed him the bottles.  That meant that he would pass on this opportunity, so it just left me to wonder and try it out for myself.

I was amazed that after the first use, my teeth felt cleaner than if I had used my other toothpaste.  I had that tingling and clean feeling that you get after you visit the dentist.  And, then that night I felt the clean feeling after using Tooth Soap. As the week progressed, I noticed my teeth felt stronger, looked whiter and my gums looked healthier.  Eventually, my husband came around and tried it for himself, after I repeated told him how great Tooth Soap was.  He agreed, and said his teeth and gums felt great and that he doesn't get the same reaction with his other leading toothpaste brands he uses.  So, Tooth Soap, you now have 2 new fans of your product line.  Thank you, Karen Van Cleef, the Founder and CEO of Tooth Soap, Inc. for coming up with an ingenious product.  I will definitely be bragging about your products with family and friends.

So, if dental hygiene is important to you, like it should be, and you only want to use healthy products, that don't include harsh chemicals, for your family, why not check out the products available from Tooth Soap today.
