Menu for the Week - A Great Meal Planning Service for Busy Moms -- Review and Giveaway

CLOSED.

And, the winner is:

Congrats to: Nathania

Last month I was introduced to Dawn Billesbach, the founder and creator of Menu for the Week, an online meal planning service for busy moms. I had the opportunity to interview Dawn for an upcoming Spotlight on Mommy post, which will run in April.  But, I didn't want to make you wait until then to learn about Dawn's meal planning service.

Dawn kindly offered me a 6 month trial to try out, in order to provide you all with my honest review, and I have to say I just loved it.  I have been using for the past few months now, and the meals I have created have been tasty.  Being a busy mom of a newborn, as well as a mom entrepreneur, it is hard to find the time in a day, let alone a week, to decide on a menu for the week.  But, thanks to Dawn's online service, she does the work for me.  Each week, I receive an email from Dawn, which includes a meal plan for the week.  I simply have to log onto my account and download the shopping cart list and recipes, and I am good to go.  No more going up and down the grocery store isles trying to piece together meals.  With Dawn's list, I am in and out of the store in a flash.  And, then with the recipes at my fingertips, it is a breeze prepping the dishes and getting them on the table by the time by husband gets home.  He is so happy we are not eating out every night of the week.  Instead, we have a fresh and healthy meal each day, thanks to Menu for the Week.

Just take a look at a few of the mouth watering dishes I have prepared this past week alone:

Crock Pot Shredded Beef Flautas

Philly Cheese steak Sandwiches and Coleslaw

Strawberry Upside Down Cake

About Menu For The Week:

Menu for the Week was born out of a passion for family, cooking and a desire to help others enjoy dinnertime again.  What initially started as a means of posting recipes and menus for family and friends has quickly grown into a national business with subscribers from around the country.
Dawn and her Louisiana background is the inspiration behind Menu For The Week.  Dawn is a working mother of two who knows the stress that comes from walking in the door from a  full day  and being put on the spot to think of a good meal and quickly prepare it all; all while trying to catch up on her kids and husband's day. "The hardest part of dinner is not the cooking.  It starts with deciding what to have and figuring out what we need."  To reduce this stress in her life, Dawn plans all of the dinners her family will have each week and creates a grocery list from that menu plan.  "It's one of my best habits and I can't imagine life without it."

"Dinnertime is not so much about the food as it is about gathering as a family at the end of the day and reconnecting."  That being said, she does believe that a home cooked meal comes from the heart.  So, while a dinner out may be considered 'time together' it can get expensive and you often don't know what hidden or processed ingredients are used.  "My hope is to make dinners a little easier for families.  It means so much to me and my family to help take the stress out of dinner and put more joy into it."
